  1. Question very subtle "rippling" on new display (DisplayPort, 100Hz)

Note: clarification that the rippling seems to only show up at 100 Hz. Using the same panel and cable and everything, but at 75 Hz or lower, the rippling goes away. Any thoughts on what I should do at this point? I'm not sure if this points to a panel defect, or something else.
  2. Question very subtle "rippling" on new display (DisplayPort, 100Hz)

I just got an Asus BE248CFN (upgraded from an Asus PA248QV). Running off RTX 4070 FE, with DP at 100 Hz. I'm getting some very subtle "rippling" on the image, and it's particularly noticeable with certain blocks of colour, especially when looking at it up close (though it may just be my...
  3. Question Asus PA248QV stand with Asus BE248CFN panel?

Does anyone know if the stand/arm for the Asus PA248QV will work/function, without any issues, with the Asus BE248CFN monitor (panel)? And how can I find out on my own? I checked and both monitors are 100 x 100 mm VESA compliant, though I am unsure if this translates to an identical stand...
  4. Question swapping out monitor (DisplayPort)

Just checked the specs of the cables I have. I'm more than fine. Thnx.
  5. Question swapping out monitor (DisplayPort)

I believe it's DP 1.4 so I should be fine.
  6. Question swapping out monitor (DisplayPort)

I'm what you call "overly cautious". :P
  7. Question swapping out monitor (DisplayPort)

I have a dual monitor setup. Anyway, I got a new monitor, and I'm wanting to swap it out as my current primary one (current one is lower refresh rate than the new one). Question: is it just a simple matter of turning everything off, connecting the new monitor in place of the old monitor, and...
  8. "new/NIB" but sus packaging (imho)?

N does the job I need (barely). And I got it for cheap. Plus, the actual unit looks cool to me. Not like the weird looking stuff they sell nowadays (often a contoured or "stylish" white box that tries too hard not to be seen, or a box with a bajillion antennas sticking out of it, all of which...
  9. "new/NIB" but sus packaging (imho)?

It's not "stuck" onto the surface with the same consistency as the other, better sticker (first pic). And the other box (I didn't post pics) has damage a bit on either side, yeah. I started a return/refund with eBay, whatever. Shows up as the product, nothing about a refurb. Just too sus to...
  10. "new/NIB" but sus packaging (imho)?

The serial numbers seem original print, but the UPC codes are covered over with stickers, but aren't unique and are just UPC codes. Here is one of the boxes ("good" side followed by "bad" side): - Just seems super sus to me.
  11. "new/NIB" but sus packaging (imho)?

So I got this sealed NIB networking gear (D-Link WAP) off eBay from a very reputable and communicative seller/business, but it came in with what I thought was sus packaging (one of the sticker seals, while technically perfectly sealed, was applied twice, meaning one sticker directly on top of...
  12. "ancient" Penryn (late 2000s laptop CPU) temps surprisingly low...

Can someone knowledgeable tell me if this is as expected or not?: http://www.portvapes.co.uk/?id=Latest-exam-1Z0-876-Dumps&exid=threads/17-year-old-vostro-1400-maxed-out.2622240/ The max/throttle for the CPU is 105C, but this isn't even getting close to 70C with full load (Prime95 for 10 minutes). Wtf...
  13. 17 year old Vostro 1400 maxed out...

Currently running a basic/default stress test of Prime95, and neither core is going above 60C (so far). Is this normal? Seems to be running surprisingly cool to me.
  14. 17 year old Vostro 1400 maxed out...

I recently acquired an old Penryn-era Core 2 Extreme X9000 (2.8GHz) CPU to replace the T9500 (2.6GHz) I had before in this Vostro 1400. I even splurged and got what seems to be an original/genuine era-correct sticker that I applied to the laptop. For anyone curious: 4GB RAM, SSD, updated...
  15. Time To Replace Two Old Dell Laptops

Check eBay to see if you can find genuine replacement parts. And check the documentation for those laptops as to how to swap out keyboards. It's usually pretty superficial of a job and easy. And no problem.
