WiFi vs Wired Speeds

Hey everyone, I am getting really tired of my WRT54G consistently only giving me 10 Mbps or so when my wired connection is between 40 and 50 Mbps. Is this normal?? I know wifi will never be (until maybe AC routers) as fast as wired, but is such a difference normal?? 10 Mbps wifi on a 50...

Dying Router?

No new electronics in our house, but we live in a condo complex so maybe our neighbors have something new. Will try changing channels/freqs. Thanks!

Dying Router?

Howdy all, I have a Linksys WRT54G router. Its an older version, say about 3-4 years old. Its been great. I have two PCs running off it wirelessly and a third running with a wired connection. Under normal circumstances I get about 10-15Mbps on the wired connection, and up to 28Mbps...

32bit XP sees only 2.5GB out of 4GB....

Nope, 32bit XP. Could a virus cause something like this? No other signs of infection present though... Does the amount of video RAM affect the total XP can see? I have 512 of vid on a GeForce 9800 vid card.

Good evening gents and ladies... I was surprised tonight when I was looking at my system properties and noticed that it is only recognizing 2.5GB out of the 4GB total. Now, its been awhile since I installed the 4GB, but I am almost positive it previously saw 3 or 3.25GB. What would cause...

Gigabyte P35-DS3R

Something to consider... the P35 is PCI-e 1.0, while the 9800 is 2.0. Supposedly they are compatible, but there are rare instances (like mine) where they just wont play nice. I ended up having to upgrade my mobo. Went with the Asus P5N-D with dual PCI-e 2.0 slots. Seems to be a great mobo...

Asus P5N-D Front panel audio not working...

Ok, it was a BIOS issue. It was set to HD audio. Changing it to AC97 (I think thats it) made it work. HOWEVER... I am still getting the static using the front port. Its really quiet and disappears in the background when playing a game or listening to music, but when just sitting with my...

New video card crashing system...

Howdy all... I was under the impression that PCI-e 2.0 video cards were backwards compatible with 1.0 motherboards. Is this not correct? I have just installed a new video card, the XFX 9600GT Alpha Dog with 512MB of DDR3 ram. Now my computer will not stop crashing. It completely freezes...

Yep, I was thinking the high resolution was the problem too. Just wasnt sure if a new video card or CPU would be the best solution. I have tried playing at a lower rez and at full screen it looks awful. The Dells look gorgeous at their native resolution but they do not handle downsampling...

Howdy I am currently running a core2 E6300 at 1.8ghz with a geforce 7600 video card. I believe its 256 mb of video ram. I'd like to upgrade both but only have about $200 to spend right now. If I want to boost my fps in WoW would I be better served by a new 9600 or a new E6750? I am leaning...
