Seagate 3TB HDD for $109. Good deal?

Those drives are garbage. I had 4 out of 5 die. ETA: and the remaining one has had hard rear errors.

Car shopping, looking for ideas

$25000 new? Hard to do better than another Mazda 3 if you want practical. The BR-Z is interesting but a bit more expensive and about (expt 0.5) practical.

What replaced the BMW 1 convertible?

The 2 series isn't just shorter. It is higher and inside a bit spacier. It is more of a Golf competitor. The 4 series is stretched and snuggier and of course more elegant. For the convertibles the 2-series will be the softtop with less options (no hud etc), and the 4-series has xdrive available.

I don't think it has to be that way. This is a US centric view, in the US there is a block but it doesn't take ethnic groups to get it. What is making India a really bad environment is corruption. Everything is set up so that there are people with conflicts of interest. And they are powerful...

What early to mid 2000's sports cars will age the best?

I just spotted that you have the s2000 in the list. Honestly, just get one. They aren't making them anymore. Won't be able to do that later. if you really don't like it - it has awesome resell value.

2015 m3/m4

I tried all modes except sports+ because I didn't want to have a test drive with ESP off (have my doubt about "off" here, too, but that is a different topic). I was always selecting gears manually so the modes did not mess with the transmission. All I noticed is that the car went completely...

That I don't know. Tuning is always tricky as it modifies the car without adding weight and you have practically no opportunity to test-drive without jumping into the pool. I know I rather have a well-balanced car with a light engine than loading up on a V8 that I carry around like a full...

2015 m3/m4

The 435 one I drove had both M-sport and DHP. Sorry :) There is some hope that the pure M-sport suspension is better than DHP but that isn't available in the M4. My request to change the tires for the test drive has been politely declined. Wussies.

No, I have been driving softtops forever in Boston. The heater doesn't have to work any harder than in my wife's roofed car. I also don't see a big difference between having paint keyed or fabric slit.

I really don't think that the softtop is any worse in winter than the hardtop. In fact I would rather have the softtop than the hardtop to retain more trunk space.
