Yeah, I've seen people hit 3.7GHz in Minecraft, which is a bit silly. The issue is still the power limit though, but it seems you can shunt mod the card to bypass TBP limits now. TGP limit... less so.
  2. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

FYI the list is being added as people test stuff. If you look in the issues section there's a thread on FSR4, as more people report working games that list should expand.
  3. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

For everyone with an RDNA4 card (or a Vega iGPU, apparently?), the latest nightly build of optiscaler now supports FSR4 if you're up for a little bit of tinkering to get FSR4 in more titles.

In vkpeak you don't need your ROPs and other gfx related fixed function hardware doing anything. In games, you do, and those all need significant amounts of power too. So the power budget becomes the limiting factor preventing such high clocks
  5. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

C&C got their sample running at 3.9GHz in vkpeak FP64, and ~3.8GHz in vkpeak FP16.
  6. Discussion AMD SoC Halo series GPU discussion

I mean, RDNA4 looks significantly improved on that end too. And when you compare Strix Halo to a CPU+dGPU config, Strix Halo kind of doesn't scale up to a high enough power level that makes sense for gaming laptops. Most gaming laptops have the cooling headroom for 80W+ for dGPU alone, Strix...

If the person I talked to doesn't include it in their review, it should be perfectly fine for me to post the screenshot here anyway methinks. It's something anyone could try on N48.

Have you been shown the funny? (IYKYK) But generally speaking on the topic of overclocking, trust me when I say shader clocks absolutely won't be limiting factor. Power budget or the other silicon in there absolutely will be.
  9. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

You mean the frequency limit with OC? It's high enough that you'll run into the power limit long before you hit the clock limit.
  10. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

RDNA3 is likely going to get access a different model (RDNA3 likely doesn't have the brunt for full FSR4) that's launching separately later on, and the screenshot is done by mistake. But what it does show, is it looks like AMD has it working to some extent behind the scenes already.

I take it y'all missed this slide then, if you're surprised by stuff like this? (Look on the right hand side).
  12. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

So in hindsight now, reading through comments online it looks like the majority of people on Reddit and Twitter are actually very happy with $599. Lots of very highly upvoted/liked posts of people saying they're very interested in that pricing. Yes there are some few people who still think it...
  13. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

Again, the Intel example shows otherwise. You're just proving you have no clue what people think now, to be frank. That's not a gamble, that's a death knell. Going to say it again, there's no point to chasing halo without a few generations of "consistently decent" before that. You have to...
  14. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

Well the reality is, they did, and they have to live with a new market now that looks at Intel more favourably than they do at AMD. Y'all need to stop living in the past and start looking out the window as to what's happening right now. Best to talk about what features could potentially lock...
  15. Discussion RDNA4 + CDNA3 Architectures Thread

You are very far from the average gamer. Intel's a clear example - if a very extreme one - that price is what it takes to win over gamers. Nobody cares about driver issues or anything else, B580 is seen as a clear winner product for a simple reason: 4060Ti performance at below 4060 pricing...
