i'm confused by ram speeds

Most high-performance ram with low CAS timings for it's speed bin are able to clock up or down according to your overclock as needed with corresponding adjustments to timings and voltage. For example, you could buy DDR2-800 4-4-4-8 RAM and possibly run it at 1:1 at 333MHz at tighter timings...

The FSB is limiting memory performance

I recently posted an article on my blog about how memory performance is being limited by the FSB and how the full performance potential of DDR3 cannot possibly be realized until Nehalem with an integrated memory controller (IMC). I'd like your thoughts on this. Here's the article...

Nehalem Clocks and Turbo Mode

Nehalem will most likely implement a clocking scheme similar to Phenom with a reference clock (somewhere around 200MHz) and then a multi for the CPU, the QuickPath Interconnect, the IMC, and then a divider for the memory frequency. It's even possible that each core might have it's own multi.

I recently came across this as well. Apparently Santa Rosa will only increase the active core multi by x1... while the data I came across seems to imply the possibility of up to a x3 multi change... (see slide here)
