It really isn't that bad. You'll get your first batch of certs pretty quickly, which works well for grabbing a good number of the 1 cert upgrades so you can upgrade a variety of classes quite a bit for such a small investment. Beyond that, you really aren't crippled without spending money...

With a little knowledge, you will find you rarely end up having to travel very far before you can start fighting. As you get more used the map, you'll be able to either pick spots to spawn in the action, or at least spawn near a vehicle station so you can cut down that travel time. ATVs work...

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion

Not a new game. Standalone expansion. Remember those? Expansions are rare enough these days, not to mention standalones. But that is why Stardock is so awesome.

Anybody else having trouble logging in? The launcher tells me the servers are up, but when I go to log in, it just hangs for a bit and tells me "unable to connect to server."

Ha. Nitrons are pretty good for both speed and knocking the flag away from people. I've never had much of a problem thinking my nitron should hit when it doesn't. And they are pretty essential for stopping heavy capping. I've been getting a lot better at landing my spinfusor shots. I'll sally...

Yeah, sometimes chasers just... suck. Or they forget they already spinfusor and nitron jumped once recently and try to use the spinfusor again... not that I've ever done that.

When I first started playing, and had absolutely no clue what I was doing at all, I was drawn to the Pathfinder. As I started to get my bearing I spent some time as a Tech and then started to split my time between Sentinel and Doombringer. These days though I'm all about the Pathfinder again...

I'm with you here. I really find it pretty rare that I get hit with really difficult shots. Sometimes I dish them out too, but honestly, I'm often surprised when I make those shots. If I have the ammo, and the reload isn't going to cause me to miss them landing or some such, I'll take the shot...

Best fan controller?

I have a basic Sunbeam Rheobus. 4 channels, no LED panel, very cheap. It does have LED indicator lights (blue/red/off) to show, roughly, where it is currently set. I will warn you that these LEDs are ridiculously bright, however with a few resistors they can quickly and easily be modded down to...

I don't know, I like nitrons overall. It sucks when I have the flag, but they are nice when I'm chasing. It does help some to discourage heavy capping, which I guess could either be good or bad depending on how you look at it. It also helps defend against those that are able to go ridiculously...

Nah, the perks unlock for all classes at once. You don't need to rebuy them on different classes. They really aren't that bad.
