I highly doubt it'd be worth it for gaming. Most games today still don't benefit that much from having more than 2 cores, and you'll see a (sometimes rather noticeable) drop in framerates considering how much slower each core will be if you get the Q9000. Of the games you mention, I've played...

Steam Weekend Deal - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Jedi Knight II! To this day, it's still one of my favorite games. I've played hundreds of hours of Jedi Academy too, but almost all of that was multiplayer.

How to set AA/AF settings with ATI graphic cards?

Unreal engine games that have profiles in the Catalyst drivers will work properly, if you've got AI on. For other/newer UE3 games, renaming the exe to ut3.exe or bioshock.exe often works.

Don't forget that specific filters can be different even if you're both using the same plugin. He might have stricter ABP filters in place than you.

some quick pointers for a new SSD user

I'm curious, what's the reasoning behind this? Isn't the ~5.6GB of reserved space that the 80GB G2s come with enough for TRIM and other maintenance needs?

What should I play (from this list)?

Dawn of War! At least play through the original game - it was fantastic. Winter Assault was fun too, but the story wasn't quite as polished. Like Elcs said, the expansions after WA don't add real storylines, but the inclusion of more races is nice. I've spent hundreds of hours just playing...

I am being reasonable. In fact, the very reason I even mentioned a BSEL mod is because it's a Dell. It's a straightforward procedure that's been done on quite a few Dells (with that same processor, no less) in the past.

What would outperform my 74GB raptor?

Anyone picking up/awaiting Metro 2033

From a technical standpoint, this game's graphics are significantly better than MW2's graphics. I had to drop down to DX10 "high" instead of "very high" and lower my resolution to 1280x800 to get playable framerates on my 4850, but it still looks fantastic. That being said, the game is driving...
