Hey Kaido,
I have the following
Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200
Geoforce 7900 GS Dual DVI Card.
4GB Patriot Memory
500GB Maxtor Hard DRive
I clicked on the kit you have for ES2L and it took me to another site, where I registered, and sent you a e-mail. I think...
Thanks for the input, I put the DDR Voltage from 1.8 to 2.0 based on a post recommendation elsewhere, but now when I go back to 1.8v, it won't let me boot and makes beeping sounds.
Thus am leaving the settings I had in my original post.
Alright the only time I can have a stable 3.0ghz system with E2160 on my Abit IP35-E board is when I increase the voltage to 1.485. I get full load during prime small FF tested temperate of 66-67C using stock cooler. At Idle I'm seeing 33C for the CPU.
I think that will do - since i think...
I updated the Bios - the CPU-Z vcore still fluctuates.
Not sure which setting to use the low vcore or go higher back to 1.485
I guess my chip isnt that good compared to others.
In order to reset back to CMOS defaults, just go in the BIOS and set the settings back to default -- or just go in the BIOS and reset all defaults would be a better idea?
Thanks
Actually CPU-Z would show the voltage lower than what i had in in the BIOS plus it would fluctuate, which I guess is what you referring to dropping. When I set it 1.485, it would be at like 1.41 in CPU-Z.
I'll try updating the BIOS using the USB today.
Thanks
I didnt know there were users of this mobo -- im using it with a E2160 and have an old bios - am kind of hesitant to update the bios in fear of other issues being caused. i do need some help in overclocking.
These are the settings I have in the Motherboard Bios - need to get input if these...
When I have the voltage at 1.485, anything over 333 FSB causes reboot.
My limit is 3ghz at 9 X 333 with 1.485 vcore. The CPU idle temperature is 40C.
I placed it at 2.8ghz at 1.365 (i think that is the right number) and the CPU idle temperature is at 36C.
Yeah I think I have a bad...
Could you guys post your settings?
For 3ghz for some reason im needing 1.485 to be stable with the following settings:
External Clock : 333 Mhz
Multiplier: 9
I might try the 2.8ghz tomorrow back at stock voltage and them climb up.
What do you guys run to test the OC? Prime or...
The ram is 2X2GB.
I tried lower CPU Core Voltage but it won't stick with 9 X 333.
I guess I might just lower it to the 2.80ghz that I tried at the lower CPU Core Voltage.
Hi - I finally decided to OC my E2160 to 3ghz.
These are the settings I have in the Motherboard Bios - need to get input if these are safe.
External Clock : 333 Mhz
Multiplier: 9
DRAM Speed: 1:1.00
PCI Express: 100 Mhz
CPU Core Voltage...
I agree - I wasn't going to OC the E2160 if I install WHS.
I am basically trying to decide which to use as my main PC - where I do our main web/video/downloads/some gaming.
Thus if I was going to use the PC ONE as the WHS, then I would reset it back to factory defaults.
I was in a...
Thanks for the input.
I guess I can use the E2160 overclocked as my main PC. Even though the E5200 is the new processor and i dont feel like swapping the processors between the motherboard.
Between the 7900gs and the gigabyte video card - which would be a good performer? I'll just put the...
