I'd like to upgrade the memory in a Dell Latitude D505. It currently has 512MB of PC2700 (DDR300) memory and I'd like to go to the full capacity of 2GB.
I found great prices on name brand 1GB memory sticks but they are PC3200 (DDR400), not PC2700 (DDR300).
Will the PC3200 memory work OK in...
Yeah, I saw that, but those are listed as supported in the v3.3 board and they take the same BIOS.
I know the v3.3 board has 1333 FSB and perhaps some additional memory tweaking possibilites, but afaik, the processors I mentioned require only 800 or 1066 FSB which are supported by the v1...
The Fujitsu HDD failed and want to replace with a larger size. The original is/was 120 gig.
Does, by chance, anyone know the maximum size this computer/BIOS (F27) will accept?
Since it's PATA, the 320 gig drives are automatically out afaik, but there's at least one 250 gig PATA and I'd...
The server is Win2K SP4 running on Asus CUSL2-C mobo with a P3 @ 1.2GHz and 512MB RAM. The NIC in that machine is a (PCI) Intel Pro/1000MT. The HDD is a 160GB PATA Hitachi.
The client computer is running Win XP Home SP2 on a Gigabyte P965-S3 mobo with a Celeron @ 3.3GHz and 2GB RAM. The NIC...
Jumbo frames were not enabled for the iperf test.
I'll try with JF enabled to see the result.
Hmmm?? Is it possible the receive performance is better because in this case the client computer uses the mobo's integrated NIC which claims to be PCI-E, whereas the server computer is using a...
I ran the basic iperf test using iperf -s on one machine and iperf -c server on the other machine. This gave me about the same results as I had before ~200Mbps.
Then I ran iperf with the -c server -l 64k -t 15 -i 3 -r switches and it presented five line of output in two groups.
The first...
Did not yet try the iperf program, but increasing RWin to 513920 doesn't seem to have made any improvement - speed numbers are still essentially the same.
Just hooked up a new D-Link DGS-2208 Gigabit switch to a computer using an Intel Gigabit NIC and to another computer using the mobo's Marvell Yukon Gigabit NIC.
I have done a speed test using netCPS and also monitored with DU Meter. NetCPS shows about 19.5MB/sec and DU meter shows roughly...
I think my Plextor 716A (PATA) is slowly dying. It seems to be flakey on reading CD RW and I can't seem to get it to write CD RW or DVD RW - although it stll seems to write CD R or DVD R.
Should I get a new SATA drive, or stick with PATA?
If I get a SATA drive, will the CD ROM support mode...
