Can I use a AMD 64 3200+ in a ECS K7S5A?

Need some advice from this forum gurus. I currently have a Duron 950 CPU in a ECS K7S5A MB. Amazon has a good deal on the AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+ Socket 939 for $50. Can I just replace the Duron with this new CPU and expect a better performance? I'm not in gaming or any high performance...

How to find a hard drive serial number?

Is there a way to find the serial number of my Western Digital IDE hard drive without physically removing from the PC case? I'm using Win XP Pro and is there a utility or registry entry that can help to extract this information? I need to just check my warranty. Thanks.

ATA Card: Use CD/DVD ROM or HDD?

My larger drives are recognized both in on-board IDE connectors and Ultra Promise ATA PCI controller card that came with the WD hard drive. I need to add a new DVD-ROM drive. I tried the DVD-ROM on the ATA card to see if the ripping speed improves. It does not change even with the correct DMA...

I had a perfect working setup with ECS K7S5A Pro, Athlon 2000XP, Win Pro XP, Antec 830SX 300W. I moved some of my hard drives around from IDE0 to ATA Card. I had to go to the bootup sequence window and manually select the IDE and it booted up okay. In the sebsequent bootup, I did the following...
