Intel Xeon x5670 @ 4GHz - 10.33 points ...could probably squeeze a little more out of the processor, maybe 4.5GHz. Load temps right now are only in the 50's (watercooled). Still, not bad for a 6 year old processor that I paid $89 for. :P

If 91% rubbing alchol is safe for electronics can I soak my motherboard in it overnig

I use DuPont Freon TF. It was originally made for cleaning circuit boards back in the 80's and early 90's. You just spray it on holding the motherboard upright, and all the dirt/dust/oils/grime just drips right off. It takes about 30 seconds per side. I've never encountered anything that works...

Moving data over a network above GbE

Most likely when you try to combine interfaces, you'll only have one gigE port running the TCP/IP session. At least this is the way Cisco's etherchannel works. Additional sessions could yield an overall speed increase, but that would be to multiple clients. You can give it a try, but I wouldn't...

Network Monitoring solution?

If you setup all the computers on the network with WMI access you can. But devices that don't support it won't be monitored down to that level. If you want to monitor network traffic for all devices, you should be using something installed on the main router for the network, like pfSense...

I want a program Like switch sniffer

Your best bet is to install it on a router so it can read all the traffic in the network accurately of each IP address. You also won't have to worry about going to a bunch of PCs or relying on some wonky program to do the monitoring (which probably doesn't work right anyway).

Now I just need to find a Z170 ITX/mATX with a 2-pin temperature probe input so I can monitor my water loop temperature like on my x58 Asus Rampage III GENE. Hopefully tomorrow some better info will be released on the manufacturer's websites.

How do you get this switch to do traffic prioritization according to VLAN?

It looks like according to their user manual that you can prioritize traffic by enabling QoS. (via command line or the 3Com Network Supervisor app) Their manual also says you can't have a per-port basis for QoS. It doesn't look like it supports prioritizing one VLAN over another. But QoS should...

It is a very customizable/powerful router that you can do all sorts of advanced stuff with. You can purchase one of theirs, or you can build your own out of random computer parts that you might have laying around. Basically it takes the place of your current router to manage your network...

Good cheap gigabit router for dd-wrt

DD-WRT can monitor traffic to an extent.. but maybe not what you're expecting. If you want traffic monitoring worth anything, you're going to need to have Snort or something similar installed. You'll find with consumer routers, they really aren't powerful enough if you have a lot of traffic. I'd...
