That's too bad. The screenshots of the BIOS appeared to show voltage controls at the bottom of this page (Motherboard Intelligent BIOS III (M.I.B III)):

I've been considering the same motherboard but have a few questions. Does the BIOS allow any CPU/iGPU voltage control? If so, what is the range? Also, can you lower the maximum clock multiplier? I'm interested in using it for an undervolted/underclocked spare 4770k in order to get it under...
Weird.. the flicker disappeared after I flashed the firmware. Only remaining issue is the horrid wifi reception and speed. Also the built-in video players don't do very well with MPEG2 HDTV captures from my PC tuner. Guess they only hardware accelerate newer codecs like H.264.
Anyone...
Just got mine. Is it normal for the screen to flicker or strobe slightly when displaying mostly white screen? It's almost as if the refresh rate was too low like on very old CRT monitors.
FYI, I was wrong about the Soyo and backlight control. I just hooked up the monitor to my Kill-A-Watt device to measure its power usage. It goes from 48-75 watts as you raise brightness from min to max. This means that it is adjusting the power of the backlight after all. But at the same...
You can't judge black level when there are other bright objects on the screen because your eye pupil closes down so cope with the brighter objects. Bright room lighting does the same thing so it helps to be in a darker environment. Even with a 60watt bulb in the room, the blacks on this Soyo...
I found the same black level results as you on my Soyo. I think the problem is caused by the way this monitor does "brightness" adjustment. Instead of changing power to the backlight (as every other LCD I've used), it simply adjusts the RGB values up/down. This causes you to lose the RGB...
Has anyone with a meter measured the black level and white level of this monitor to determine real-world contrast? It seems very poor from what I've seen. The black is probably the worst I've seen on an LCD in recent history. Even with lights on in the room, anything with a black background...
