I choose the Crucial m4 256GB. With the recent firmware updates, I believe it is was a good choice. I loathe booting machines without an SSD anymore.

I'd love to see a review, too. The 256GB version is the one I'm looking at. Scouring the net doesn't indicate people are having any issues with it -- unlike some other sparkly drives.

I need the RAID 0 speed for working with large sequential data files (1GB+) when writing/reading.
Would using the SSD for scratch decrease the lifetime of the SSD? I plan on 16GB of RAM, so I doubt I'd ever run into RAM issues in Adobe/Pinnacle. But, I can see where Adobe Bridge cache...
I'm beginning to think this solution may be the right way to go. Use the "Include in library" feature to add the giant data files from the RAID 0 array into the 4 default Libraries. It is beginning to make sense why you would want all of the config-type user data to be on the "fast" drive...
Your experience is close to my workflow. I'd be using Photoshop CS5 x64, Bridge CS5, and Pinnacle Studio/Avid Studio, DPP, BreezeBrowser. Thanks for the input.

Hi. I'm considering replacing my aging computer system. SSDs seem to be all the rage, but the price is high on an absolute per GB basis. It seems SSDs work great for OS drives, but not so much for the amount of data I would be pushing. Hence, the need for a goodly amount of storage.
My...
1.1875v is what the chip is coded as. I wonder how low I could go at 333 FSB?
I know my main system (see sig) works at a lower vid than the chip says it needs.

I had to put together a semi-new system for my wife, so I figured I might as well get an E7200 and the Gigabyte DS3L P35-based MB everybody likes.
I was able to OC it to 333 FSB @ 3.16GHz, stable for 10 hours Prime 95, and default voltage! Tcase temp didn't rise above 48C. Cores hit lower...
DaQuteness, my case already has a side panel exhaust.

In this configuration, I have found the best place to place the side panel exhaust is to the most rear point (left in the picture) of the case. Seems to keep the cards the...
Well, I installed the Scythe S-FLEXes SFF21F. They are a bit quieter than the Lian-Li standard fans and use less power (0.20a vs 0.27a), but push the same air with better static pressure.
The front bezel still must be opened, although I did get a 3C improvement with the new fans. And 3C...
Zepper, I tried sealing off the top half of the front bezel, so it would not pull in hot case air. The temp went back to 34C, even worse than just removing the bottom bezel snap mechanism.
