I'm not sure that's necessarily true. I played EQ1 a bit ago in one of the classic style servers (legacy or whatever they call it), and had a blast like I hadn't had for many years. The gameplay still rocks. People who like that type of MMO will be there, those who don't will still play WoW. As...

The next BIG MMO?

Pantheon is being made in the same vein of the original Everquest, with forced grouping, etc. If you prefer the solo MMO style like WoW then it's not for you, but if you like group-oriented playing, you may want to check it out.

Talk me out of getting an Oculus Rift from Best Buy.

If I had to pick one I'd pick a Rift. It's $200 less and I couldn't care less about room-experiences. I want it to play games seated. Having said that, I cancelled my preorder just a week before it was supposed to be shipped. My heart kept saying BUY IT BUY IT, but my brain kept saying WAIT...

No Man's Sky release date announced.

It's basically an exploration game. Basically you go to a planet, look around, dig some stuff, then go to the next planet. There are space battles but they're not the focus of the game so don't expect anything fancy about it. Mostly it's just exploration. If you're someone who likes exploring...

Am I the Only One Getting Sick of Open World Games?

About fast travel, one thing I learned long ago is to separate what I as a player see on the screen and what my character(s) see. What I mean is, to me clicking on a location and instantly moving there is not unimmersive (as long as I've been there once), it's basically a shortcut of nothing...

FF14 - worth playing or wait till FF15?

Since to me what matters the most is the battle system, I think X is my favorite FF. And I think the protagonist in XII and XIII are more emo.

New to Strategy game genre

Hearts of Iron IV

Yes, HoI4 is less micro-managey, you can use plans and let the AI manage each unit. Obviously this doesn't work well in MP as micromanaging still beats plans, but against the AI it's just fine.

Me too, but you don't have to buy games in Steam to have games in Steam. I buy from greenmangaming, wingamestore, etc. they all sell you Steam codes you add to Steam.

Am I the Only One Getting Sick of Open World Games?

Problem is that for some reason game reviewers think that not being open world is a negative point and not a design choice. Every time I read a review where the reviewer complains about a game not being open world, I automatically add 20% to the score to counteract their penalty.

$600ish for 1070 in Canada

The 1070s out there are the 'Founder Edition' ones. Wait a month or two and the normal cards will be like $100 cheaper I bet.
