i'm a bit rusty here, so i would appreciate any help.
i'm using a pix501/6.3 and an allied telesis AT-9924T/2.7.6 (layer 3)
i have two vlans in the setup, one for the servers (192.168.1xx) and the other for the workstations (192.168.2xx). i have RIPv2 running on the the pix501 and...
this is how i would approach it:
i would look at the hosts needed. i would then calculate a mini table showing how many hosts i can get.
1, 2, 6, 14, 30...
now you're not going to get exactly 17, so you need to look at the next best thing.
focus on the two numbers on either end of 17.
14 -...
while the technical stuff is key, i would also suggest looking to add something to it that would have you stand out.
you want to show some management know how. look towards getting your ITIL cert as well to give you some leverage over someone with your identical skill set. in addition to the...
here's a quick diagram:
*internet* ------ [cisco 831] ------ (pix) ------- *private network*
i've done the ipsec vpn setup on the pix, and i tested it on the network between the 831 and the pix; it works.
can someone tell me what ports/protocols/etc i need to forward on the 831 to the pix?
i...
i thought it was possible to have the dma2200 directly access the hdhomerun tuner w/o the need to go through a windows media PC?
i have a media center pc running vista ultimate, and i really don't want to keep it on to have the dma2200 access the hdhomerun.
any way to handle this?
i bought one of those zalman HTPC cases from frys when they were clearing out for $80.
i'd like to give it a nice black lacquer finish instead of the current silver finish.
what exactly is the process? do i need to sand it down first? what do i need to purchase? what's the process to...
geez, i decided to go with an opensolaris/zfs box for a file server, but this makes me rethink that.
btw, how did you get the 10% and 4% discounts? i don't see geeks on techbargains or cashback.live.com.
at the moment i'm running an 8400gs. that card will go into another system soon.
i went out and purchased a 9500GT/512 for $50AR. considering no gaming will happen on this HTPC, i'd really like to do something cheaper than the $50.
i'm going to watch/record HDTV, and watch both blu-ray...
the more i read about ZFS, the more i like it.
the idea of a pool for all media sounds really nice. just drop whatever media you have, regardless of what it is, and it gets allocated into the pool.
unless, i'm understanding it wrong.
it's not just exchange. it's the backbone of the windows forest/domain environment.
it looks like opensolaris has CIFS built into it's core.
i think i'm gonna give this a run. let's see how well it works.
anyways, instructions for anyone who wants to implement it into their windows...
