Its a new system and relatively new memory. Its a good way to make sure the memory is good, even for ECC. Remember, ECC isn't a panacea / doesn't magically fix all memory problems. It's also a decent test for a new CPU/mobo.
I only currently have one stick of 5600 in the Turin box and its running fine at 5600. It's successfully completed one full round of PassMark's MemTest86 and running another one overnight. Hoping to buy some 6400 tomorrow.
On H13SSL-N or H13SSL-NT? If so, the default BIOS behavior is to automatically select the speed, which in our cases would be 6000.
Even if you've got it locked down to a lower speed, I'd be curious to know the details on your working RAM (manufacturer/part #/size/speed its running at) so I...
Has anyone tried DDR5-6400 memory in a Rev 2.0 H13SSL-N or H13SSL-NT with a Turin proc yet? The only case I've seen so far is that Phoronix review.
I just built my first Turin box (H13SSL-NT, EPYC 9355P) and it's currently borrowing a DDR5-5600 stick from another box.
It looks like...
Do you happen to know the model of torque wrench you have? I'm beginning to learn about these and they are very confusing. And unless you have some sort of torque checking device or calibration certificate, its hard to know if they are accurately calibrated.
Actually, the SP5 torque is less. Per the H12SSL-NT (SP3) manual, the required torque is 14 lbf-in (I think it's actually 14 +/- 1). Per the H13SSL-NT (SP5) manual, the required torque is 10.8 - 13.0 lbf-in. It appears the orange TR tool is set to 13.3 lbf-in. So in theory, using the orange...
@Markfw, @vityan666 and other Genoa trailblazers --
1) What torque screwdriver did you use to install your coolers? (The SP5 torquing spec per the Supermicro manual appears to be different than SP3, etc).
2) What thermal paste are you using?
