Q8400 Core temps ~50 - "CPU" Temp 103 Abit IP35 Pro

Wanted to post a quick update if anyone happens to have this problem. I found a beta bios for the IP35 Pro which is 18. Installed that and the temps are now reading properly and no more random reboots. Ran prime for 12 hours on a 20% overclock and all is good. Thanks for any help provided.

Those readings were with a fresh AS5 layer applied. Checked it this morning and the idle temps were all in the mid to low 30's. I felt the heatsink last night and it was not warm at all and felt around the MB and it was room temp. Can't get to the back of the board without unmounting it. At...

I am using Real Temp and the cores at idle are showing 40,31,35, and 41. Bios shows a single CPU temp of 103. Everest reports: Motherboard 34 PWM1 42 CPU 103 Tj. Max 105

Thanks for reply. Actually it's the bios on the Abit board reporting this high temp and Uguru (Abit's utility). I wonder if it is combining all 4 core temps. I beleive I was using real temp last night and it was only reporting the 4 core temps, I will double check again tonight. It was...

Just dropped a Q8400 in my Abit IP35 Pro and put my Arctic Cooler on top with AS5. Individual cores are showing 50 or less while "CPU" temp is way up there over 100. I think this may also be called the Tj. Max temp. I have the IP35 Pro at latest bios on website, but the machine keeps...

Super Budget Build?

Figured this was a popular board and usually the popular boards have "Official Threads" to discuss problems, bios upgrades, tweaks, etc. You know stuff that's nice to know. Last board was a ASUS P5W DH and that Offical thread was loaded with good info.

400 was a no go for me on 1503, would not post. What kind of voltage are people giving the Conroes? I took mine up to 1.325 and stopped, couldn't find too much info on safe voltages. May have to try again with 1506.
