i did a few things. my typing teacher at the time blew an eprom with basic so i could learn basic. after that, i had learned C, making anything from hello world to a crappy little accounting program for the family business.

Has anyone else here ever built their own PC? not talking about going to tiger.com, am talking about going down to your local hobby electronics shops and getting a Z80, 8212's, 8t97's, 2114's...etc. was digging thru my basement and ran across my first computer.. a z80, 2k eprom, 1k ram, 2 8...

i have saw them used in many apps, and thought i would like to try my hand with a few... is there a recommended dev kit for someone trying them for the first time? i see fpga4fun has a few boards.. any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA Craig yNos

... maybe a IPv4 TFTP server... leave it on and do a portscan, port 69/udp is tftp... then again, it doesnt have to be on a specific port.... just a guess...dont hold me to it.

is it slooow today everywhere?

am a support tech/admin in training @ a large west michigan ISP, and am going NUTS...i have only taken 8 calls today!<must be the crappy weather> almost 1 per hour!! is it slow everywhere today?

as of 3 years ago<when i took the class> they where still talking about windows NT4 replacing unix.... as the up and coming thing...and windows 98 WILL be a better, more stable system....i am guessing they have re-vamped the test since then...at least i am hoping. it was a waste of time...but...

if they only have line level amps, and not return amps, the signal would not be able to get back from your pc to their equipment.
