I'm not that high yet, still around rank 16, but I find that I get matched with consistently more challenging opponents in ranked. It makes for a more enjoyable match. Occasionally you run into a cheesy deck, but then you make sure you have a counter for it, or just take the loss and move on...

You need to take hearthstone for what it is. It's not MTG, it will almost certainly never be as deep as MTG. What you give up in that depth and strategy, you get back in ease of entry, and ease of play. I could teach someone the basics of hearthstone in a much shorter time. The games also...

Physical or Digital Games?

It's too bad all the digital companies take our $60 and only give us the right to use the game on their terms. Once they get it right and let us sell or give away our digital games, seems like HDD space and bandwidth would be the only reasons to keep physical discs around.

That's true, they change the gameplay some vs. vanilla, but almost without exception they add more richness to the game.

Do you game with headphones or speakers?

Definitely don't need to spend that much for a good pair. I've been using a pair of Grado SR80's for over 10 years now, still going strong and deliver great sound, all for around $100. I've also heard good things about the audio technica m50's too, for a little less than $150. The Grado's are...

Is the tide of rage against IAPs and microtransactions hitting critical mass?

This is the biggest problem, and it comes straight from all those crappy mobile games that aren't designed to be good, just addicting and profitable. I hope that the mobile world doesn't make that sort of game acceptable to the masses and have it spill over more and more into the pc/console area.

This was my problem too. Played in early-mid 2000's, but couldn't commit the time necessary for the real fun. Didn't mind doing the occasional solo, but it's so much better with other people.

Agreed, too many wires make it really annoying to move the desktop. Might be able to get away with stringing a long hdmi on the floor temporarily with a wireless controller, but that's not ideal either.

Makes me miss being able to make combinations and use any cards together in a deck. Although, I imagine it makes it easier to balance to have the class specific cards, rather than just colors in MTG.

There is a little gem in the center below the picture, color determines rarity, and they match the WOW colors or gear. Would have been easier using words like MTG, but it's not too bad. No Gem - Basic White - Common Blue - Rare Purple - Epic Orange - Legendary...
