OMFG coercitiv! That was the problem! The older files on the drive are slower to read than newer files.
I couldn't test in my original system unfortunately because my cloning of the drives produced 2 drives with the same disk id and even after I changed one of them Windows still didn't like...
So I have this nvme drive that is a 4 year old Inland drive (1tb). I noticed recently that the read speed on it had become super slow. Windows was showing that the disk was at 100% utilization while reading at only ~30MB/sec. That's worse than pata speeds. I cloned it onto another drive...
I use an AT&T hotspot plan when traveling to get internet. Buying a 5g hotspot for AT&T costs a lot ($500). I was wondering if a phone could be used with a hotspot plan? A 5g at&t prepaid phone is less than $200. Could I just stick my hotspot sim into one and will it work?
Hey I just wanted to update this in case any people googling stumble upon this. There is no good info on google about this sort of problem that I could find.
The problem was getting worse over time. HP sent me a restore usb drive but that was useless and had no effect. No surprise since the...
It seems to have airflow. The cpu temps and gpu are low and aren't out of normal even when running stuff. This clock speed drop happens even when the system is idle.
So I bought a laptop a month ago - an HP Omen with 11800h. It worked fine until last friday. It would have crazy bad lag that would come and go. Even the audio would glitch when this happened. I then ran the HP diagnostics and they had no problem. I then reset windows (11 btw) and that had...

I reinstalled windows and that did the trick. Thanks guys! I just hate re-installing windows since it takes so long to re-install my apps. Also, I just re-installed windows about a month ago when I moved to an nvme so I having to do it over again sucks. Btw, windows still doesn't report gpu...
A nvme is really the same thing as an ssd except with a different interface. They're both flash memory. If anything, the nvme has better cooling since they are caseless.
Looking at that spreadsheet, I see a lot of people with 3600 memory kits that are running at lower speeds than 3600. Of the 29 entries with the text "3600" in the memory name, only 7 run at memory speeds of 3600 or above. It seems like the Trident Z and the Patriot Viper are the most...
I just bought a 2700x with g skill Ripjaw V 3600mhz memory but I am unable to go above 3533 mhz using the xmp settings. At 3600, the system will boot but it will crash if I try to run a game like overwatch after a few minutes. I'm not even sure if it's rock solid at 3533 since I haven't stress...
So I upgraded my mb and cpu and now windows 10 is not activated any more. Also, when it tries to activate, it get's an error: 0xc004f025. So what is the deal? Am I stuck having to purchase a new copy?
So I have an Intel 4770k and I upgraded to an Amd 2700k. This is a move from 4 to 8 cores. I also upgraded mother boards and ram from ddr3-1600 to ddr4-3200. I have kept the same HP 1080 GTX. Now, my computer has become slow.
It's most noticeable in Overwatch which is the only game I play...
