I'd probably say lanbox to start. Something that's easy to haul around. As for fan -- I typically upgrade away from the retail stock -- so whatever you recommend. You mentioned a new ATI line -- can you provide some details on that? (links are fine). I was looking at the ATI 4890, but again -- I...
My last several gaming rigs were all wrapped neatly in full-tower ATX cases. It's been a few years, so I'm a little out of the loop on what can be put into micro-ATX cases as far as powerful video cards and psu are concerned. Here is what I'm starting with:
1 x Intel Core i5 750 Lynnfield...
Anyone know where I can buy the CV22 - Nvidia IGP AGP DVI Card for a SN41G2 Shuttle box?
I've searched high/low for an online retailer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, does anyone know if you lose any performance by using the card? Would I be better served by plugging in a ATI...
I have an older SFF shuttle box, SV25 I think, and the fan on the PSU is going out. Has anyone replaced these? Is it easy? Where can you buy new psu fans for these smaller psu's?

Just for fun I overclocked mine from a 2.0A to 2300mhz (115x20.0) Seems to run at 54 degrees idle in WinXP. I'm not daring enough to take it any further.
These machines are very fun. Has to be the best looking number cruncher I've ever owned.
edit: to answer your question they'll take the...
Do the CPU numbers reveal if a certain batch of P4's are more overclockable than others? If so, can anyone decipher that from these #'s:
2A GHZ/512/400/1.5v
SL5YR COSTA RICA
3211A243-0653
INTEL MC 01
2.2ghz on lower voltage even. Nice! I've read alot of posts about older drives struggling with FSB overclocks so your probably going to have even more success w/ the new WD drive.
I'd like to get at least 2.2ghz. I'm not interested in over-heating an already hot box. Which video card are you...
Ok, I kindof figured as much since so many users here have 1.6a's. I think I also remember reading that yields of overclockable 2.0a's weren't as high as the 1.6's.
Either way, I think at least the 2ghz will keep my satisfied for at least 6 months ;)
I should have waited just a few more hours...
After reading overclockers.com it looks like I should be able to get this OC'd to at least 2.4/2.5 on the default voltage. I guess the only thing I need to find out now is if this particular Shuttle board supports FSB tweaking and if my new memory can handle it.
Still, any feedback would help...
It's been a couple of years since my last overclock and I want someone's opinion if I should/could overclock a new PC i'm building. Here are the specs:
Motherboard: Shuttle SS51G SiS 651/962L Chipset
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.0AGHz 400MHz FSB
Heatsink: Shuttle I.C.E Technology CPU heat-pipe (I...
Thanks a bunch. Sounds like we're going thru the same thing. I have to piece apart my old system and try to get at least 1300 for it. The shuttle box I want to build is this:
newegg wish
I've been debating on waiting for the NV30 cards to come out. By then the component prices will have...
Has anyone here heard of someone putting a A250 inside of the new SS51G w/ success? The A250's heatsink looks pretty big (too tall in the pictures on newegg) to fit inside. Opinions welcome.
It's been awhile since my last upgrade (at least for me). I have a Soyo Dragon+ w/ an older Athlon 1.4ghz and I'm considering selling off some of my older equipment to help finance a Pentium 4 upgrade.
I'm far behind in researching the latest boards, but in the past I used to buy Abit/Asus/Epox...
