Strange Partial Shutdown

There is a difference in voltage described by my BIO vs. SpeedFan and MBM. In the BIOS, I have a defined voltage of +1.5Vin which reads 1.441V. Looks good. SpeedFan describes a +2.5V at the same reading. MBM descibes it as CPU/IO. All readings are at 1.44V. Should it be 1.5V or 2.5V?

I checked my volts and temp using speedfan and the bios. I did a clean install of XP.

One more note: The rear fan is connected to the power supply directly. I think my MOBO is just shutting down. What could cause this?

Who to believe?

Yeah, I installed a zalman heat sink after I reseated my old heat sink w/ new thermal paste. No luck. I think my MOBO is trash. When I first built it, it would crash like mad every time I installed XP SP1. I have been running 2K and living in denial. I ran MBM to verify some strange voltage...

Who to believe?

CPU Temp readings: BIOS: 63C Speed Fan: 63C MBM: 39C What could cause the different readings? Which should I believe?:confused:

power supply 12v rail - what's acceptible?

According to the text "A+ Guide To Hardware" by Jean Andrews, the acceptable range for the +12V lead is +10.8 to +13.2V.
