I guess that only A is correct because there is mentioned in the case study that client computers run either MS OCS 2007 R2 or Lync 2010. Older versions of clients don't have build-in logic for DNS loadbalancing, therefore HLB needs to be used. Minimizing costs don't play any role here, because with DNSLB you may face to possible service unavalability if 1st of Edge servers will be down. Therefore I guess A is correct.


Exam B Q9 - Folks, what argument you have here for B? This seems to me like a word-game again. I am from Slovakia, so maybe I don't understand the question well but if I implement CAC it will limit total amount of bandwidth consumed BY LYNC SESSIONS made from 2010 clients. Does the fact that they didn't mention "consumed BY LYNC" makes difference? I really like answer C. I guess that by implementing CAC, you will not be ready to provide reporting on calls. You will need to deploy some reporting solution. What do you think?

Availability req. says "ensures that users in main off. can make calls if a PSTN GW in main office fails.". We should provide recommendation to meet the availability requirements for PSTN connectivity in main office. Well, if in this proposed design 1 PSTN GW fails - I guess nothing will happen because there is 2nd PSTN GW. If both PSTN GWs fail adding 2nd FE will not help. So what? Is B better choise than C? TrainerHandbook: Pool dial plan can be created at the service level for any PSTN GW or Registrar in your topology. To define a pool dial plan, specify the particular service of the PSTN GW or Registrar pool to which the dial plan applies.

I have some more concerns:
Exam A Q12 - I would choose D as correct answer. Lync Server 2010 imposes no specific restrictions on the method of load balancing the reverse proxies as long as the reverse proxy farm can continue to provide the requirements of the Web services (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg615011%28v=ocs.14%29.aspx).
I found also following sentence: Decide which load balancing solution is appropriate for each pool in your deployment, keeping in mind the following restrictions: Some types of traffic require a hardware load balancer. For example, HTTP traffic requires a hardware load balancer instead of DNS load balancing. DNS load balancing does not work with client-to-server web traffic. I am not sure is ABS (Address book service) is such http traffic or not. I guess it is not.Carefull, don't mess it up with Address book web query service.

Exam A Q42 - I agree that B is correct but I don't agree with description provided. It mentions CAC. I guess it is not correct to propose anything regarding CAC, because CAC is not supported by 2007 R2 client. 10534A TrainerHandbook states: Only LS 2010 clients uses CAC. The earlier versions of Office Communications Server clients do not support CAC because they do not have the required logic for contacting the policy server component when they receive a call. So do you have any better explanation why to choose B - the voice policies? Or would you choose something different?

Hi all, I agree with most of d_ude corrections. Anyway I have some comments:

Exam B Q28 - the case study mentiones that business goal is to minimize costs, anyway the question itself doesn't state that. It put emphassis just to "must meet the availability reqs". How to be sure that we should take into consideration also business goals. I hate these word games. All other questions allways states exactly what requirements to put into consideration. Well, I guess that correct is C. Any ideas?

Exam A 14 - LcsCmd = OCS2007, Dbimpexp = no good choice, ApplicationSettingsExport = Resource kit tool for OCS2007, Topology builder = no good choice. Well, question states that we have Lync 2010 environment. It doesn't state anything like we have Resource kit for 2007 available. Can somebody post an idea how can microsoft ask such question? It is mentioned on MS ResKit pages that resourse kit tools can by used only with version of software they were prepared for. So how could I use Application Setings Export with LS2010? There is none tool like that in LS2010. This question was on my test one week ago and I chose Dbimpexp, but I am really not sure. Any ideas? Can somebody explain?

Exam B Q 18 - Question states "recommend a backup solution for the CONFIGURATION STORE", not the LYNC CONFIGURATIONS. One of configuration's store databases is RTC
