You need MCSA2008 (70-640,642,646) before you can sit 70-417. If you don't, you need to sit 3 separate exams: 70-410, 70-411, 70-412. MCSA Windows Server 2012 (70-417) is an upgrade from MCSA2008. It is 62 questions and breaks up the 3 exams: 410/411/412 into 3 parts of 22/20/20 questions. You only need to score 700 out of 1000 as you lowest score in all 3 to pass. So 700/700/700 will do fine.

If you crunch the numbers: 1000 divided by 22 = 45.4545 points per answer, and 1000/20 = 50. So 45.4545 x 16 questions = 727.2727 and 50 x 14 = 700. And as 700 is a pass, you can get about 6 questions wrong in each section. Bearing in mind that all answers are not of the same value. Also, Warb's drag and drops, and hot areas are the best I've seen in any practice exam so be quick b4 they change.

Exam 073-417. Fri 8 Nov 13. Passed 70- 410/411/412 with 850/940/933. 22/20/20 questions. Totally memorised dump; no new questions. So there are many wrong answers,especially the 410 parts.But if you memorise this dump alone you will easily pass regardless.

@Warb Excellent work my friend! Passed today in USA! 700/820/833. The 410 was my weakest section and that was only because 3 questions were the same but the responses were different. @David: 70-417.v2013-10-12.by.Warb.246q was the only brain dump I relied on. I also attended an online class, studied the accompanying book and took practice exams on certbase.de. Studying dumps is a good way to check your level of knowledge, but it should not replace really knowing your Windows Server. :)

@Carsten: my question is if you have passed this test only study of 70-417.v2013-10-12.by.Warb.246q or you have relied also on the 410.411 and 412 separately in order to pass

All the questions from the exam were in this VCE, only 1-2 question answers were a bit different but the answer we had(VCE) was available. I've already said it before but, we still have some wrong answers. maybe 5%. Most of the questions came from the new material. (Q100+)

I answered the naming master in my exam, which doesn't make it a right answer. I never had the chance to test this one in a lab but, I was convinced by the explanation I got at that time.

Passed using only the Oct 17th version posted by Warb below. First section (70-410) was the lowest score; other sections were almost perfect.

Two questions were slightly different; question 137 references Vista clients, not XP and question 204 no longer has "New-VirtualDisk" as an answer choice.

Finally I passed the exam with using this warb dump.

For Drag and Drop Q#3 regarding iSCSI. My answer below:
1. On Server 2, add an iSCSI Initiator ID to target 1
2. On Server 1, configure the iSCSI initiaor to connect to target 1.
3. On Server 1, create a new volume from Server Manager.

Although the implementation is for Windows 2008, I think it would be the same with Win. 2012

Warb's answer is right. I have made a lab to prove myself and obvious thing :-) and of course you need DHCP admins on a DHCP server membership. In this case IPAM just bring up "DHCP like" remote console to edit a scope.

@Warb: there's a question in the dump about creating an AD app partition. Your answer is to use dsamain because it will expose the snapshot, but the question is not about AD snapshots! Should be NTDSutil. Also the question about a non-authoritative synchronization of SYSVOL keeps coming back incorrect if you provide the answer from your dump. I got back to Q202 and tried to see if WMF 3.0 could be the answer.
My answer is still enable Remote Management, here's why:

"When you added the downlevel servers, Server Manager attempted to connect to the Windows Remote Management (WinRM) port (if that fails, then the DCOM port) of the target server. If either the WinRM or DCOM connection is successful (depending on firewall settings, and whether WinRM is installed), Server Manager checks whether WMF 3.0 is installed on the target server."

WMF is the first thing checked AFTER the connection.
To be able to connect, you need WRM, making "C - enable Windows Remote Management" a better option.

But, if you convert it to dynamic, you'll still use 100go until you compact the VHD. and you'll still need to turn it off to do that.

Since the Convert to dynamic doesn't specify to compact it, i still pick to shutdown the VM, which will remove the memory from the snapshot.

Alot has been corrected since ping's version. But they are very few errors. exampel how to look in a AD snapshot after 2 days, answer NTDSUTIL. thats an error, you can use DSAMAIN to expose the snapshot.

I think it is a question to native speakers. If there is Would in the genuine exam - it's up to your mood :-) at the exact moment or your knowledge of Windows PowerShell, Server Manager or RSAT. But if there is Could stated All of them is the best answer there.

Hello Guys. I have a doubt about question A104. It says "Any of these", but the questions says "What WOULD you use?". In this case my guess would be Server manager, because it does not ask "What COULD you use?". Please share your opinion. I am taking the exam in 13 hours. Thank in advance. Alright, this is my release from the 2013-10-03.
It is the same vce as the one found on my 4shared, yet i got tired of reposting the link every 2-3 days.
