Originally used this dump to study. About 3 days before my test I figured I'd take a look at Ra's. I should have used Ra's. There are multiple questions wrong on this dump. Ra's dump has explanations on most questions so you can easily follow up on the answers.

This dump has multiple questions about the quorom configuration and it tells you that enabling cluster shared volumes is the answer. That's wrong. It should be Node and File Share Majority.

I had 4 disk part questions. 2 I didn't know. 1 was automount from this dump. The other was about 3 drives. 1 with critical data and creating a mirror. Answer is create. One question was about having a dynamic disk and attempting to install Windows on it and receiving the unable to install windows on this disk due to unsupported configuration. Something like that error.

Anyway I passed. Goodluck all.

Some HDDs already have volumes on it. You need to attach these HDDs, but disk should NOT have drive letters after attached. What diskpart command should run after attached these HDDs

Hey Guys, failed with 680 (that is exactly one question out). This exam consisted of several:
*Diskpart questions {A-X}.
*IIS manager functions {A-P}.
*Other roles/features {A-L}.
3 new questions I have never seen before:
* {new drag and drop (in order) question to do with WDS}.
*The other 2 I have no recollection.

I re-did my notes to reflect the focus and recall on this. The correction comments from RP are spot on, and have added these to my notes. I will retake tomorrow and let all know the outcome under 2nd shot. Thanks VCP5Guy

This dump is still valid. There are really several mistakes, however if you prepare from this dump you will pass. I passed on 17th of May (Friday) with 820.

Same poster that posted last week with a 680 and failed. Well I tried and compared another dump for course 70-643 by Vahid and there are a lot of mistakes on here mainly dealing with questions on diskpart. Some are when you have a mirror and one hard disk fails and you want to add another what must you do first. On this dump by vcpguy he says "add" but the correct answer should be "break" you have to first break the mirror. Also for adding a raid 5 what must you do first. VCPguy says "ADD" correct answer is "Create". Also to manage ftp the answer vcpguy says is iis 6.0 manager when in fact its IIs manager. There are many more when I compared this dump with Vahid's. Needless to say I passed with a 860 studying Vahids and failed with a 680 studying rcpguys. I'm not saying all his answers are wrong just if you study from his go with what you know. I made the mistake of going by his answers and unfortunately a good deal of his wrong answers ended up on my first exam. My personal recommendation would be to study Vahid's instead.

I agree with a previous poster don't just study a dump file but study the book and other material. Unfortunately the school im going to doesn't even have server2008 r2 for their virtual machine so I can't even practice hyper v, or use remote desktop server feature. Anyway I failed with a 680 my first failure I passed 70-680, 70-640, and 70-642 my first time. All the one's that previous posters posted were wrong I put on the vendor and I believe thats why I failed. I just discovered this site yesterday from my instructor and no one told me that vendor dump files have mistakes. A little angry but I know I will pass next time i have put so much studying into this course.

H26 - You need to create a mirror of the volume on Disk1. Which Diskpart command should you run?
Dump shows the right answer is D - expand disk. I think it's wrong. The right answer is E - add. The volume which we need to mirror is already exist.

H4 - Install Windows to dynamic volume.
The answer Q (retain) is wrong.
Windows 2008 R2 is not supporting dynamic volumes for installation. You have to delete and create basic volume or convert dynamic volume to basic. But there is no "convert" option to select in the dump. So I suppose the right answer is C - create.

G26 - You install the SMTP feature and verify that Server1 receives email messages. You need to ensure that Server1 can receive email messages after the restart.
I think the right answer is D - modify startup type of smtp service. Not the A (relay) becouse you verify message delivery.

G9 - there is only 3 actions in exam. not 4 like in this dump.I suppose you should not enable storage manager feature.
1. Enable failover clustering
2. Create failover cluster
3. Enable cluster shared volumes.

Exam F, Q38 is wrong.

Q38: Probably just a mistake, but the RECYCLE button under Application Pool Tasks is to manually recycle right then and there. The correct answer is the RECYCLING button under Edit Application Pool, which takes you to the menu where you can set conditions/schedules for recycling AUTOMATICALLY (as the scenario requires).

Caveat to my last post:

If "Configure Cluster1 to use a Node and DISK Majority quorum configuration" was an option, it would be viable with the LUN alone.

The Windows OS sees a LUN in a similar way it sees a raw or unallocated disk (Disk5, Disk6, etc), and as long as the designated disk or LUN is present, it acts as a "witness", providing that odd-numbered vote to provide quorum in an even-number-node cluster.

Exam C, Q28 is wrong.

Q28: You discover that there are no cluster disks available for a new clustered file service (after connecting to a LUN on a SAN) on Cluster1.

You need to ensure that you can add a clustered file server service to Cluster1. What should you do?

VCE shows D: Configure Cluster1 to use a Node and File Share Majority quorum configuration. *This is wrong, because until you HAVE a file share, NaFSM quorum won't see a file share to give a 'vote' toward the quorum. The question is asking HOW you will get a clustered file service!*

The answer is A: Enable cluster shared volumes.

Hope no one's pissed about all the posts.. I'm pointing out errors as I go through the entire VCE in preparation for the exam. Moral of the story is, take time to study the actual material, instead of relying solely on a dump.

H/16 is also incorrect.

Shows (N) "Diskpart /add" after replacing a failed disk in a RAID 5 volume. That's how you tag a second HDD in a mirrored volume.

The answer is (M) Diskpart /repair

Justification: Every Technet and Server 2008R2 RAID setup walkthrough on the internet.

Exam C, Q17 and Q18 are wrong.

Q17: Answer shows D (Medium), but should be B (Low).
Justification: The application must NOT perform network/web calls, nor access DB sources. At medium, the app can do these things, but at LOW, it cannot.

Q18: Answer shows D (Medium), but should be B (High).
Justification: The app MUST write to a log file located outside its own installation/application dsirectory. At HIGH, it can do so. At medium, it cannot.
