I do not really know MCTS 70-640 Exam Cram. I have used the 640 book from MS Press. In my opinion, studying just this book is not enough. You really have to do some testing on virtual servers. For example, certificate services are heavily tested on the exam. But the MS Press book is by far not enough for this topic.

After I studied the book, I did all 469 questions and made a screen shot of all questions I answered wrong, and used Google to find out why the answer was different from what I thought.

But that it just how I did it. ;)

Passed this afternoon with a score of 700 in the UK. Phew !!! I was averaging 900+ practising the dumps at home so I was confident of passing with ease, assuming most of the questions in the real exam were on the dump, which they were.

Looking back a couple of the exams here I think I may have selected the wrong answer, hence my "low" score. There were maybe a couple of new questions and other questions where the answers were split.

@James - Yes you should still pursue this trace for a few reasons.

1. Nobody is rushing to upgrade to Server 2012 right now because it focuses heavily on the Cloud.

2. Microsoft isn't retiring the exam, its changing its certifications as a whole. Rather than MCITP for completing all 3 Server 2008 exams you will get the MCSA (unless you complete them all by July 2013, then you still get the MCITP which will show legacy and show MCSA as current).

I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm working on 2008 certification before July and then I'll upgrade to the 2012 MCSA, then pick one of the new MSCE tests.

So, according to MS, the MCITP will retire the exams for Windows Server. Exactly what does this mean. Should I not pursue the Server track? Thx.

The answer is true. To delete stale records on DNS Server, you have to enable scavenging:
1. On the DNS server (here is DC1 by right click on DC1, choose property..)
2. On the zone on the DNS server (here is contoso.com by right click on the zone contoso.com, choose property...

study your CS, make sure you go through tests J, K, and L. the majority of the questions where in those. i'd say, study J, K, L, and every CS question you can find and you'll get close to 900..or you can memorize it all.

btw, they reordered a lot of the answers. try to memorize the actual answer. if possible, get someone to ask you the questions and try to answer without seeing any choices at all.

Got six new questions and one question with different choices.

Another question asked about under which node you should modify GPO for laptops in case they are connected to non-determent networks. These networks should became Public.

i've gone through the vce again. almost half of test K was on the test i took this morning. definitely make sure you study H-L first. i probably saw 2 total from A-C.

ok guys. the vce is definitely valid. but make sure you go through ALL of them. i studied test a, b, and c. i can ace any of those with a 950 or above. i hoped that would help me get through. i got less than 600. another guy in my test group that passed with an 800 said that everything he saw was on this vce, but were mostly located in the latter tests, so it might be worth your while to start at test L and work your way down.

Answer D "From ADSI Edit, modify the properties of wWWHomePage attribute" = this suit your explanation. Answer B is not good because it is not supose to be done on the user class, the update needs to be on the attribute.

C28 sholud be D because the fact that you add the administrative accounts to the Denied group will not give the nonadministrative account the permissions to the allowed group. You need specificly to add the nonadministrative account to the Allowed group.

I9 should be Forest trust and not External trust becuase the question says that 2 forest involved and if you need access from the whole forest to another - you need forest trust not external.

K33 should be D - the "Attribute is copied when duplicating user" is a check box on the attribute itself (on ADSI Edit), not on the user.

It's Import-Module because if you just double click on the new-users.ps1 file, normal PowerShell wont understand the New-ADUser command, you need to import the Active Directory module for it to have the ADUser functions.
The command is: Import-Module ActiveDirectory

Oh and I'm also in South Africa.

I wrote on the 19th and passed with 884, this dumped helped me Learn a lot and I wouldn't have passed without it! If you're failing with this dump, try studying, I studied for 1 month, went through the dump once, brushed up on my weaknesses, went through all the answers I get incorrect and passed!

take the exam for the 2nd time and fail.i studied only from the dump,in my second shot exam i got exactly the same questions from the dump and 4 new questions,i answered all questions exactly as in the dump.i am sure that there is some wrong answers specially questions regarding enterprise subordinate certification authority and the requirments to deploy i got 2 successive question on that and answer as the dump.finally over 60% of the exam came from H-L,don't depend on the dump only u must at least read the material from somewhere.

How do you all prepare yourself for the certificate services part? I failed twice on the exam mainly because certificate services is terrible. I have studied the chapter two or three times, followed every working link. But it just is not enough. Passed the exam. Had a lot of DNS and certification questions. At least 60% were from H-L. A lot of the questions had different answer sets. Don't memorize the answers from the dump, understand the concept so that you will know it even if the answer sets are different. Doing A-G helped also.

Thanks for your answer. I was wrong,and didn't understand why A is not relevant: AD Directory Domain Trust-right click the root-Properties there you have the option to create alternative UPN sufixes. Problem is the Question was NOT CREATE a new UPN suffix, but change it to all users, so, Ldife is the answer.

Answer A is not relevant at all..
Answer B is not good because you need to update all of the users in the domain, it could be thousands..you don't want to modify one by one..
Answer C is not good because Csvde uses only for Import and Export.
Answer D is the best since Ldife used not only to Import and Export but it also know to modify AD objects.

took the test today, the dump is 100% valid, but there were alot of new questions on the test. one in particular that i remember was about which tab shows when contoso.com gets updates. the tabs were SOA, GENERAL WINS, MEMBERS. i cant remember the other ones, but there were about 10 that i wasnt familiar with. if you want to pass this exam i suggest memorizing all the questions and answers..not just answers. they were really tricky

Thanks a lot for a good work, I passed test today with 792, maybe 5-6 questions that are new, so this dump is very valid.

My routine was CBT Nuggets, then test through dump, repeat nuggets that were with subjects I missed, technet, and as very best, explanations in dump, very useful. Will try to fill out some unanswered questions, as this dump deserve it.

Anyway, as I had MCSA 2003, I thought 70-640 will be easier for me, but surprisingly, it was quite hard? maybe its just me?

So going for next one. Any suggestions for 70-642 dump?

Failed, got 576. this dump is valid, but there are a few more questions regarding ADFS and powershell that I did not see in this dump. Study whole dump, as it is valid, not just the last few exams.

@Nada & Capponne- Yes ,it is true that after 31 July 2013,you will no longer have the MCitP certification. From that date onwards you will have MCSA: Windows Server 2008. I think the exams 70-640& 70-646 & 70-642 will be available ,but I think you can write them ,but you will get the MCSA: windows server 2008 cetification. Look here://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/mcsa-windows-server-2008-certification.aspx# and here :http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/retired-certification-exams.aspx. the list of retired exams does not show the 70-640,646,642 as retired after July 2013.

If you take up exams 640,642 and 646 after July 31, 2013 you will get the MCSA: WS 2008 certification, not the MCITP anymore.

Dump is still very valid, almost all of my questions for the first part of the 70-648 came directly from the dump. Alas, I failed badly but did not really study the dump very well, just enough to recognize the questions. All areas of MS test objectives are in play regardless of how useless or obscure you think they are. I had a LOT of questions on ADCS (at least 25% of the test) and at least 8 questions with the extended number of answers A-J. Don't think you can skate by on this one by just knowing the commonly-used technologies.

The MCITP certification expires end of July 2013 so any exams that have not been written before then, needs to be passed before then, that's what I understood reading on the Microsoft site. It appears there are more South Africans failing so something is definately up with our exams in SA

@Malhatse from South Africa, study the bump. Answer's on the dump are valid. You need to read and understand the question. We tend to memorize the dump and not understand the statement. Read and understand the statement.. so that when they shuffle the question in the exam you know what the statement requires then you will pass. Also try to download other brain dumps just do comparism then promise you will pass.

I wrote in South Africa also, failed twice, there is definately a difference with our exam version

I completely agree with you as I too was doing labs and studied the material before attempting the exams questions. Don't get me wrong, I was not slating this dump as majority seems to be passing using venomous dump but was just querying whether there isn't something strange with the SA exams if Mahlatsa and myself did not pass. There are a few questions they asked that was not in this dump but the majority of the exam had all the questions in this dump, but the answers were numbered differently in this dump. Will rewrite the exam again on Monday, hopefully passing it a second time

Passed today with an 925 in the US, This dump is valid!. Every question came from this test and no new questions for me just 4 of the questions were worded a little differently. Need to understand why you are picking a specific answer otherwise you will get tripped up. Also, youhave to study ALL of the questions not just what some people tell you to study.
