@confused @bc2013 I followed the same path from MCSA 2003. I also rushed my cert since i was advised by 'SEA Regional Education Center' that I should take 646 before the expiration of 648 so it can be credit for mcitp/mcsa 2008. In any case, if I am wrong, I wish you guys the best of luck for 646.

I stand corrected, exam for 646 will be valid till further notice by Microsoft. A lot of date changes and u-turn by Microsoft.

At least MCP Planner does say can still upgrade to Server 2008, with the completion of 646.

Have you done 646 yet? If you have, do you recommend any of those dumps.

That is incorrect, the 646 exam will still be valid in 2014. Only three exams retire on January 31, they are 643, 647 and 649.

Microsoft have not announced when 646 will be retiring.

From what I understood, if you have MCSA 2003 and plan to upgrade to MCSA 2008. Your choice were 648 before 31st of July, if you did not do it then, you would had to do 640 and 642 as they are still valid after the 31st of July. Not to forget, 648 is 640 and 642 exam as a whole, that what will be on your transcripts 640 and 642.

As BC2013 has said, and Pascal did mention that 646 still valid till end of the year. Plus you can still gain a MCTIP 2008 after the completion of 646 as I have gained 648.

@confused. You should take 646 before July 31 so that 648 will still be credited for mcsa 2008. Else you will need to take 640 and 642 again.

@Confused, I had two drag & drop questions, so study them. Definately study the same choice questions as they appeared in both AD and Network sections. Study CA and port numbers, also look over RODC and VPNs.

If for any reason you are not able to do the 70-648 then you can do exam 70-640,70-642, and 70-646 to earn MCSA 2008.

the exam 70-648 = 70-640 and 70-642
If you have passed 70-648 and need to be a MCSA 2008 then you will still have to do 70-646

Don't mislead the community, 70-640, 70-642 and 70-646 are still valid exams. As they still used for today or have been implemented to most business this year. There no push for Server 2012 as there is for Server 2008.

70-648 is the exam that Microsoft is set expire for 31 July 2013. Targeting Admins that haven't yet upgrade to Server 2008. That means M$ will earn more $$$ this way, as you would need to do 2 exams separately, instead 2in1 exam.

But if you really sure they are expiring, share a link with us.

Do note that the above mentioned exams (70-640, 70-642 and 70-646) is set to expired by 31st July 2013 which means that you can't take this exam from 1st August 2013 onward.

If you do not make it for this exam before the 31st July then you may do the exams 70-640,70-642,70-646 to earn MCSA 2008.
Just give it a shot. If you are prepared then you should be able to pass.

Study the same choice questions, there were like twenty of them.
Don't know if there were out of the box questions, can't tell.some of the questions had the answers shuffled and some were different in the description although similar. there were couple of new questions, one that I remember was how to configure and ip using the netsh command.

Some of the questions were changed from pinpoint to a simple question but the content stayed the same.

In addtion,few questions felt like they were changed, they had the same topic but the requirment was a little different.

overall great dump to study from.

P.S= don't worry about everything I wrote since it was relevant to maybe 10 questions overall spreaded between the two parts so you should be ok even if you would be wrong about them. anyway same-choice questions is a MUST

I did go through the "out of scope" content. however none of it came.
You do need to study " same choices" well.
Please remember that the answers are shuffled. They may not appear in order as they are in this dump.

Just passed this exam with 812 on 07/19/2013 NYC. The answers in the real exam are shuffled and it makes more difficult to be confident on your answers because sometimes the memory memorizes by position and not by content. So study all those questions with 7 or 8 answers and understand why you're using System health validators, Network Policy Servers, Radius authenticators, Radius accounting. Definitely know Certificates. I think that was my weakness on the exams. I lost confidence on the first question because it was shuffled and I wasn't sure on the answers. And it was about certificates. Makes sure you understand certificates. I got a lot of questions regarding DHCP.

This is a good dump because it has explanations. And if you read those too it will help you better. I studied for two weeks. I went trough the dump 3 or 4 times. on exam day I just marked the wrong questions and repeated those twice.

AD RMS is required to be installed in a domain environment but it is best practice NOT to install it on a DC.

Question q135 there is a problem with. you have three windows 2008 servers. DC1 DC2 and SRV5. Srv5 doesn't have the the DC role on it. However the Right anserd is answer D where it sais: that We should install AD RMS on DC SRV5. But we already know that SRV5 doesn't have the DC role on it. So watch out for this one.

Don't skip 31 questions from same choices section, I would have failed in this exam but thanks to me intellect - I thought of going through these questions. I got around 8-10 questions from this section in each of those exams.

I took this exam on 9/7 and it was very valid. I averaged 400 when I first took this practice exam and then spent three days going through the practice questions and learning them. On the real exam I got 887/966. I had seen nearly all of the questions in this dump, there were a couple I hadn't seen before and some of the wording on the questions and answer options seemed to be slightly different. BC2013, if you have a Windows 2003 MCSA, you need to take 70-646 and 70-648 to upgrade you to an MCITP Server Administrator on Windows 2008, you can then take the 70-417 to upgrade you to a MCSA on Windows 2012.

640 and 642 both exam qestions comes from from both sections + other 2 sections. . Same Choise Qestions are almost the half half comes for both exam sections. . Learn every sections. every qeustion is important.

according to microsoft refferences you sepused to copy the ntds.dit file after you compacted it to a specefied location and not move it. please consider to check because I might be wrong

Umm Tester, as far as I know, you will pass the exam only if you score at least 700 in each part. Final score is the lowest score of the two sections. It is mentioned in the very first page (About This Exam) of the dump file.

Just sat it and got 641 on 640; & 733 on 642 parts, using this dump; its good, just need to consistanty be scoring over 750 before sitting the test I think. Does anyone know whether you have to score above 700 on each part to pass the test? Ie. If your average is above 700 but you get less than 700 on either part (the 640 or 642 part) would you pass the exam.? Thanks

Just did my exam today.was a retake from last week.i just missed out last week with around 65% average.640 pass 642 fail.retook today and got 85% on the 640 and 90% on the 642.so a good pass.

Used straight evil brain dump.on the 642 most of the questions were in the exam save for the odd one or two, however there were about 5 questions worded differently on the 640 that were relating to certificate auth.which arent in this dump.I must thank straight evil for this dump as it covers about 85%.although I would recommend getting a 640 dump and just review any differences.I know bruce and venemous are probably worth reviewing.to ensure you cover random questions.just be on the call with certificates.

Kosta, this dump is here b/c I started 70-640 and 70-642 dumps and knew there was no way MS would ask questions on things you learn when 1st becoming an MCSA (security groups, AD, trusts, etc). People study the 640/642 dumps individually b/c they are revised the most and were accurate and comprehensive. My goal was to make 1 dump with 95% of the exam material so you only need to study half the # of questions. Other comments here should be enough to convince you this is all you need - if you really remember your basics as an MCSA.

Thanks for the comments everyone. You might not believe it, but apparently I uploaded the wrong version. I had about 10 more days of work into it than the file you're getting. That's why the dates don't match - the filename is right but I renamed the wrong version. My final product (which now is missing) had 100% of the answers provided, no blanks.
