copy and paste:

Question 1 - displayed an interactive image of the IIS 7 Manager and asked to click the correct button to use to configure the site to use a certificate.

Question 2 - Drag and drop objects.
The question asked the drag the roles for server 1 and 2 in order to configure a remote application. Server 1 is the session host, server 2 is the web access server.

Based on the comments ( I have not sat the exam) i would belive that this exam is mostly valid.

Compared to all the oter exams i have sat - 70-680, 70-640, 70-642, 70-236 recently, the question on this are very long on average. I can see how some people who are just trying a pure Brain dump for this exam with out even understand the basic of what all the term mean are going to fail.

@Question, I have done my upgrade exam just a few weeks ago, it is not as tough, or maybe it wasn't for my, I used Microsoft.Skills4Pass.70-649.v2011-01-20.by.TahirObaid.299q.vce to studdy for it and passed easy, It is much easier than writing the seperate exams I think.

Quick one: As an alternative to writing your 70-649 exam, can you write the 70-640, 642 and 643 ones instead to upgrade your MCSE? Anybody know? The upgrade exam is a beeeeeeeyitch and I am done waiting for new vce's for it.

I had to split my comments because there seems to be a size/length limit

- There was also a question in my exam which somebody else already posted on this site in the comments under another dump. However, I think the answer this guy gave was not complete. I think there are 4 steps needed instead of 3. After installing the app on the server you need to add the Remote App via the Remote App Wizard in Remote App Manager. Only after you've done that you are able to create an MSI package (and deploy the App). I'll copy paste the question here and add my addition in what I think is the right place:

"You run a Remote Desktop Session Host on Windows 2008 R2 called Server1. Your network consists of Windows 7 32-bit workstations. You've received a new 64-bit called App1. You need to provide access to App1 to your client workstations. Users need to be able to associate .XYZ file types to automatically associate with App1."

The correct answer should read:
- Install App1 on Server1
- My addition: Add the Remote App (to the server) via RemoteApp Manager
- Create a .msi package for App1 for deployment
- Deploy the App1.msi package to the workstations via GPO

I passed this exam monday with a pretty high score. There were some new questions but for the most part the questions were from this dump. I must say I studied pretty hard on this one though so my score might also be based on some genuine knowledge about the stuff in the book.

Some new questions I remember:
- One was about adding a SMTP virtual server to the (already installed) SMTP server feature. I think the answer was to do this via IIS 6.0 manager.


- There were two questions about PXE response in case of unknown (not prestaged) cliënts. One of those questions was unspecific and just asked 'You need to ensure that WDS only responds to computers that are prestaged in Active Directory' (this is actually a question which is part of this dump, the answer is PXE response policy). The other question was not in this dump and asked a specific question about PXE response and boot images. Among the answer was PXE boot policy and - again - PXE response policy. This was a bit of a trick question. I'm almost certain the answer still must be PXE response policy, the same as in the other question (Check the PXE boot tab in WDS server properties. Although a disctinction is being made between known- and unknown clients that tab is about whether a boot continues automatically or after a keypress).

I think there might be an error in one of the answers in the dump. This is the question that might need a different answer:

The answer in the dump is 'Medium'. However, an application with Medium trust level cannot access files outside it's application dir. It's tempting to think 'Program FilesWebApp' is the application dir. I'm not so sure about this however. I actually think it's not. It's just a dir with a related name, but I don't think the ASP.NET app resides in it or anything. Also, if you Google for ASP.NET medium trust you'll find this:

"FileIOPermission is restricted. This means you can only access files in your application's virtual directory hierarchy. Your application is granted Read, Write, Append, and PathDiscovery permissions for your application's virtual directory hierarchy."

Since this is not given in the question, the 'Program FilesWebApp' dir is most likely not in the applications virtual directory hierarchy. Because of this I think the answer to this question must be High Trust Level (because the app must access files outside the app dir).

The questions in this test are still valid; however, there are new drag and drop questions (6). I passed the exam with a 760 score. I had All the questions on the test correct. I believe I may have got "1" drag and drop question correct. Therefore, if you get all the drag and drop questions wrong, but all the questions correct then you will still pass the test.

My testing method
Day 1
- Try to memorize answers for exam A, wait 10 minutes, test yourself on A (check yourself as little as possible).
- Wait 10 more minutes, repeat the last step but test yourself on A and B.
- Repeat this for half of the study questions (like A-G for example)

Day 2
- Next day run through all the tests you memorized to this point.
- Repeat the steps again starting with the next time start with the last half of the test (H-M)

Day 3
- Run the FULL test two or three times during the course of the day - with at least 3 hours between each run.

This helped me get a 96% out of 250 questions and if I took my time on the real exam I'm sure I would have aced it but I wanted to finish in 20 minutes to get back to my family. Hope this helps!
