as per my understanding, AAM is when you want to associate multiple URLs with the same web application. Here the question is stating that you want to implement multiple "web application" i.e. we are talking about three separate web application on single server. Now as the proposed URL does not include port number, it is obvious that all three web application will be on the port 80. and the only way to host multiple web application on single port is using "Host Headers" and associated DNS entries.

to my understanding AAM would do the job, but there is actually an explanation in the Answer that states that since there is only 1 IP Host-Header is the only option.. I am with you on this, AAM will work and is OOB Sharepoint. I guess if we take a broader sys-admin approach (ie non Sharepoint) one would say IIS.

cleared. Study this file. 200 Mins, 5 sets, last set of 52 questions were killers. Many drag and drops. Study all the questions mentioned seprately as comments here. Last thing - just by reading the file won't help you clear the exam. i will say 50% questions from this file, rest on your experience.

Passed today with 800. It was a hard test, the structure of the exam was the same as J.J.S. described below.

Too exhausted to recall anything at the moment, but if you master everything in this dump, you are already to anwser at least 30 questions correclty. Many new questions are mentioned in this forum, try to read the relevant arcticle and make yourself sufficient in the topics. Then probably you should be able to pass.

Passed today with the score 820. It is really a tough test if you don't have sharepoint experience. The dump and the comments are very helpful, however definitely you need to study and get pass.

There are 8 steps and only 6 are available to be chosen:
So you have to something like:
1: pause all jobs
2: remove db from web application using CA
3: detach db using SQL Management
4: backup db in Server1
5: restore db in Server2
6: resume all jobs

despite it is written that database has to be moved from server 1 to server2, if you choose to move files using explorer there is no otion offered in this question to attach database using SQL Management.

From the SharePoint perspective, databse has been moved, because now web application uses db that resides on DB Server2.

hello there. I've sucessfully passed the exam. Exam was devided on 6 sections (or parts) as follows:
1 section: 6 questions - 18min.
2 section: 4 questions - 12min.
3 section: 6 questions - 18min.
4 section: 51 question - 120min.
5 section: 5 questions - 14min.
6 section: 6 questions - 18min.
this dump contains answers for all of the sections (parts) except the 4-th section (51 question). Some of the questions (8 or 9) have been already discussed here. Section 4 contained lots of drag&drops. Many of them are time-consuming and difficult. Some of them are not. There were questions about Microsoft SharePoint Online and SharePoint on-premise, search topologies, sharing application services across the farms, kerberos constrained delegation . questions that have been already discussed here in this forum and others that I remember not very well to write them here 'cause I was really exhausted. I had end-to-end time to complete the 4-th section.

Well I just appeared in the exam today and passed with 870.I completed my test in two hours.Most of the case studies are from this file only.You can grasp all of these case studies along with practical experience of implementing things in SP environment.2-3 questions were from SP online(office 365) as well.A lot many drag and drop questions which requires some good experience of how things work in SP and good amt. of questions on search topology as well along with the questions mentioned by guys below.

as Argh from Norway said - almost all new questions and the time restriction is making it even worse, wondering if you will finish or not. 2 many new questions to remember them exactly - they focused on Search and BCS a lot as well as deployment. none of the exam prep have the new questions. the drag and drops are very confusing. if you have worked with SP, try and let your experience lead you.

The exam is nothing like the dumps or many of the purchased practice exams. First part of exam was mainly drag and drop with a few multiple choice. Some of the drag and drop were steps for various processes and others consisted of matching questions.

Second part consisted of 4 (or was it five) case studies. Each case study was timed (1st 15 min, etc.) Very difficult. I came close but haven't had enough training or experience with SP1 and 365.

Am a little confused with the drag and drop for moving content databases. The list of steps consisted of all the steps from the technet instructions, but I was only allowed to use 7 of the 8 steps. So I may have read the question wrong and was suppose to pick back up and restore?

That is another point. Questions are confusing and some of the few multiple choice answers were long and very very similar in wording so read everything very very careful!

You have to study and really know the product to pass this exam.

Passed today with 940. I have been a SharePoint consultant for over 5 years and I found the exam a little tricky at times. I was pointed towards this site by a colleague and when I went through some of this questions, I found that there were some wrong answers in the files being marked as correct. There is about 6 drag and drop questions which are easy if you step through them logically. I had ULS, Moving a content database between SQL Servers, Confitguring Search, Kerberos and Creating a top level site off a custom template. I also had an interactive question on self service site creation. The multiple choice questions were relatively straight forward and about 50% were from this file. THe case studies are pretty close too.I have to be honest and say that if it werent for my experience with this product as well as MOSS 2007, I probably would have failed. If you are going to be lazy and rely on others to get the answers for you without even researching to see if that answer is correct then you are digging your own grave. I found that there was more than enough time with the exam too, I finished most case studies without about a third of the time remaning, I cant stress this enough, make sure you understand the product thoroughly and dont just memorise this file content. If you are going to memorise the questions at least find out why the provided answer is the correct one. Good luck all.

Event throttling has two sections event level and trace level which confirms that it is for both. If u have a vm go to diagnostic logging and check it

In the "kerberos delegation" question I didn't have the "kerberos" choice. It was an SSRS choice instead. I wasnt sure of my answer so I won't share a mistake to other.

Passed with 800. It's a tough test tough. Without the dump I probably won't pass. The dump covered about 60%. Some drag and drop questions are pretty annoying. Almost all of the drag and drap qs are mentioned in this board already, but don't take answer directly from here, instead study a little bit the related topic in MSDN, and practise the steps in real enviroment. You should be fine.

The steps are:
1. Open sharepoint designer 2010
2. Open the custom site
3. At the top right select "save as template" (note: it cant be a publishing site or this will be grayed out)
4. Give it a name and click OK. The template will be added to the site collection solution gallary as a solution.
5. Save the solution as a .wsp file. example: oldsite.wsp
6. In CA create a new site collecton. For template select "custom".
7. After the site is created to go the site. It will ask for what template to use. Select solution.
8. Upload the .wsp file you saved earlier
9. Now when you select the template under custom you will see the .wsp file
10. The site collection (top level site) is now created using the old custom site.

to time limitations: ahmed is correct. there are several parts in the test. I think five of them with case studies (just like in this dump). you have between 15 to 20 minutes for each case study (depending on how many questions are asked => 4 to 6). and then there is the big block with 28 questions (drag&drop, some new questions, some from this dump) and 55 minutes timelimit. adding all timelimits gets you up to about 3 hours or something.

The question asks, "How to move custom site to a top level site A?"

The article you references how to move a site COLLECTION to another site collection. The question is moving a site to another site collection (which is a top level site). Also, notice the word CUSTOM. The only way to move custom content in a site is to make a site template then create a new site collection with the template. This is what I think the question is getting at.

Note that in sharepoint 2007 you did this with .STP files, now you use solutions. I think theyre trying to show people this new behavior.

The steps are below. I tested this in a VM and it worked like a champ.

1. Open sharepoint designer 2010
2. Open the custom site
3. At the top right select "save as template" (note: it cant be a publishing site or this will be grayed out)
4. Give it a name and click OK. The template will be added to the site collection solution gallary as a solution.
5. Save the solution as a .wsp file. example: oldsite.wsp
6. In CA create a new site collecton. For template select "custom".
7. After the site is created to go the site. It will ask for what template to use. Select solution.
8. Upload the .wsp file you saved earlier
9. Now when you select the template under custom you will see the .wsp file
10. The site collection (top level site) is now created using the old custom site.

My registration shows the test is 3 hours, how can it be 55 minutes? Microsoft just cant change the time of the test

I passed the exam today with 700 (thanks God), here is what i see in the exam:-

* first part of the exam is:- "29 questions" (with timelimit 55 minutes) contains drag and drop questions and some multiple choices (all of the 29Q are new ones).

* second part of the exam is:- 6 testlets questions and each testlet has 4 or 6 questions with timelimit 20 minutes (all of them from the dump).

* the time was not enough at all.


* but in my opinion, if you are little familiar with sharepoint and memorized the dump very well, you will pass the exam.

I think that the answer "A site collection" to the Q121 is wrong.

The answer is correct "A Web Application"

Because
FOR "Each dept must be able to manage its respective recycle bin" must be use "Site Use Confirmation and Deletion" for each Web app

@gosh I think that the answer for Q124 is "A single server and five web applications"

Because
"Each DEPT must be able to manage its respective recycle bin"
AND NOT "Each COURSES must be able to manage its respective recycle bin"

There's many different ways to move a site. The easiest is export/import, however the source and destination site have to use the same template.

To move sites that use different templates you would have to save the site as a template, then import it. I think this is what the question is getting at because it says you have a CUSTOM site. A template can export customizations.

I failed the 70-668 exam because of the drag and drop questions. I want to share a few if you have any answer pls help

The explanation for this question is incorrect:

"You are a SharePoint administrator for Wide World Importers. The company policy and requirements are described in the Exhibit (Click the Exhibit button).

You need to identify the minimum number of Hyper-V servers required for the planned deployment of SharePoint Server 2010. How many servers should you identify?"

The exhibit says:
"-If a single physical server or virtual server fails, users must be able to receive search results for all content in the organization"

The comments say:
"If a single physical server or a virtual server fails, users must be able to receive search results for all content in the organization. . 2 hyper-V server for 2 WFE role."

This is incorrect. The exhibit shows crawl, query only on server3. In order to make sure a user can still search sharepoint, there needs to be 2 physical servers, each with a VM that has the query component.

I think question 124 is wrong in this dump and previous dumps:

why?

1) The only way to auto delete a site collection is to click on Central Administration > Site Use Confirmation and Deletion. This is scoped per a WEB APP. Since there are 20 courses, that means you need 20 web apps.

2) The recycle bin setting is only configured per webapp. Since each dept needs to configure their own recycle bin, and there's 5 depts, you need 5 farms, each with 20 web apps.

Hi!

I failed the exam today, there were many new questions with loads of drag and drops etc. Also I heard the exam will be changing with in Jan 2012 to include SP1 changes.

This test will get you passing, but you better have true knowledge of SP2010 Implementation, Deployment, and Topology. I passed today with 760 studying solely this and CBT Nuggets.

The drag and drops will throw you off but just logically step thru them. I had a total of 9.

this exam is accurate unfortunately they change some of the questions. drag and drop are present now. does someone have example and answers to the drag and drop? thank you in advance

110% confirm the questions have changed. Loads of drag and drop questions. Some of the questions listed in the VCE do come up, but not enough to pass the exam.
