@planettoon. There is an Exam Tip in the MS training book for this exam that also says that PDC Emulator and RID Master must be online to add a DC to a domain. So it seems they are really hitting this hard, wouldn't be surprised to see this one on the test.

@Chris. here is the details. total 176 min with 3 sections of 20qs: 20qs: 21qs. you will be given 56:60:60 min given for each section. total 61 qs.

@Seeking Clarification (regarding Q18).

I've done a few tests on this, when promoting a DC in an existing domain when the DC with the Domain Naming Master (DNM) role is OFFLINE, the process works without any errors. The computer reboots and is then a DC.

When selecting a child domain then an error occurs saying 'Verification of child domain inputs failed' and you cannot proceed past the Deployment Configuration screen (ironically, you can click Next which looks like you can proceed, but this just re-runs the check if you do bring the DNM back online). A similar error occurs when trying the 'Add a new forest' option and you cannot proceed.

When I took the RID Operations Master OFFLINE, I ran the wizard to promote the DC again and got to the Prerequisites check page and it errored with an issue:
You cannot install an additional DC at this time because the RID master is offline

So, I would also agree the RID role is required, not the DNM.

Microsoft guidance says that it is a combination of three exams, and when I go to book online it shows more than 3.00hrs of exam duration.

I'm confused, can someone please explain ? because this dumb only has 100qs.

People keep on saying (moaning) that they didn't get perfect scores, good! Don't try to get perfect scores, you're just arousing suspicions and making it harder for the next guy. You probably wouldn't have even got a passing score without these dumps, so why try to achieve a very unnatural perfect score?! Always get one or two wrong, never go for perfect because you would never have got perfect working by yourself, don't be silly, we don't want these dumps to be removed or the exams to be re-written multiple times, so kop on please!

JFI, I used 2008 Datacentre core eval > 2012 Datacentre core eval. The upgrade option is available but once you click it is says it's not a valid upgrade option.

Also, the MS upgrade path (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134246.aspx) doesn't mention core at all, which makes me skeptical.

This article says you can upgrade from Server Core 2008 to Server Core 2012 but not the GUI 2012.

The upgrade must be the same configuration (Core -> Core), but it is allowed.

The question does not say upgrading to a full 2012 version, so the upgrade to Server Core 2012 would be allowed.

I think the answer is valid in this case for Q43

Working through some of these questions I believe a few are wrong:
A-Q42 - dcpromo /forceremoval does not work so it cannot be B. C is the best of a bad choice of answers there, but as sniper says, Uninstal-ADDSDomainController is the cmdlet you would use.

A-Q43 - Server 3 (2008 Core) cannot be upgraded to 2012 (core, or GUI). The setup screen will prompt saying you cannot upgrade and a clean installation is required.

Actually no, you are wrong. To pass the exam one must score at least 700 on each of the sub exams. When you close the exam at the end you see your final score and it is the lowest out of 3. If you score 1000/700/900 your fnal score is 700

This exam is 1 exam.
It is devided in three blocks
2 blocks of 20 questions and one block of 21 questions.

After completed a block, you have the posibillity to review your exam questions if you like.

when you closed a block there is no way to turn back.

This three blocks are an indication for de cert exam of 70-410, 70-411 and 70-412. for if you do de server 2012 upgrade skill exam. (70-417)

The total score of these three blocks says you passed or do no passed your exam.

It's is important to pass 700 points of the total exam 70-417. It does'nt matter if you don't earn 700 point's for one block. the my score 925+962+933 devided through 3 (blocks makes a total of 940

I hope my explication makes is easier for you to understand.

Question about Backup with Windows Azure, only System State can't be done with Windows Azure Backup

I have a dumb question for those of you that have passed. You keep giving 3 scores. I assume this is because this 1 test is an upgrade test that kind of encompasses 3 different tests (70-410, 411, 412). Is it possible to pass some of them but not all? Do you have to retake the whole test? Sorry, I'm just confused by you guys posting 3 scores for this test. Thanks!

@ NeedMoreInfo To be honest I thought that the 37 dropped questions were rubbish, they looked like the'd been taken from the back of a study book, they certainly didn't look like dump questions. You are wrong. RID master kicks in when the available SIDs are over. RID master will add a new portion of available SIDs. On the other hand Domain name master is a must when you add new DC in multi domian forest.

To me the answer is DC3 all day long. The RID Master is responsible for the promotion of Domain Controllers. Without a RID Master no security identifiers are given out and without a security identifier then promotion cannot take place as you will get an error message and won't be allowed to proceed any further.

Dear guys, the domain naming master.from documentation: Domain Naming Master The Domain Naming Master must be available when adding or removing a domain from the forest (i.e. running DCPROMO). If it is not, then the domain cannot be added or removed. It is also needed when promoting or demoting a server to/from a Domain Controller. Like the Schema Master, this functionality is only used on occasion and is not critical unless you are modifying your domain or forest structure.

Hey wassup hommies, i just took this exam and scored 962,850 and 966 using this 58Snipers exam. Just a heads up, there were an additional 3 or 4 questions which were not in 58Snipers exam, and it has to do with modifying GPO's using some rather incorrect looking answers, the options were like gptedit.msc?? supposed to be gpedit.msc and the correct answer was supposed to be gpmc.msc or similar but it didnt even feature as an answer.. however it was there just spelled wrong wtf!! any way, the first portion of the exam 21q's had 3 or 4 of these stupid faulty GPO questions but all the rest were in 58Snipers Exam, so Feast and be Merry!!!

Okay - what I did with this was: correct a couple of questions to be closer to what's actually on the test. I recreated the blurry disk management image. I moved a couple of images to the exhibit button, since the question clearly states to click the exhibit button. I corrected a bunch of typos. I made all of the reference URLs clickable links.

I didn't get the question with the missing exhibit in my test, so I couldn't recreate it.
