The defendant, who was an active duty seagent picking up extra cash as a rideshare driver, claimed self-defense. The jury did not agree. Apparently, this defendant had previously posted on social media about killing BLM protestors, but came to trial with a story about how he didn't even know there was a BLM protest going on that day.
But Abbott is giving him a full pardon.
