True buzzards are in the hawk family and are found over on that side of the pond. In the USA and the Americas, we have turkey vultures, black vultures, and two species of condors...none of which are buzzards...nor should they be called such.The folks over in Britland use the term "buzzard" as a general term for hawks and eagles. In the USA, we only use "buzzard" to refer to vultures.
