For wired use, I love my Beyerdynamics DT880 Pro cans. Rich, deep sound without being “thumping,” yet they don’t drown out the highs. (My aging ears can’t hear much in the higher frequencies anyway) Between a bit of gunfire, some artillery, explosions, 30 years of operating heavy equipment, often in noisy environments…it’s a freakin surprise I can hear anything.
For Bluetooth listening, I generally use a couple of pairs of over-ear headphones.
Sony WH-CH710N…good sound, excellent noise cancelling, outstanding battery life…crappy build quality.
Monoprice Sonic Solace II. Decent sound, good ANC, acceptable battery life…good build quality. I wear them mostly when mowing the lawn.
