i would say that's very much objectively worse. terrible/unexpected weather conditions can happen to helicopters in particular. much less so than planes. poor maintenance, while i would guess is less likely, is still possible.That’s not really any better.

Yes, no mention on CBS evening news, national or local of confirmed deaths, injuries, or whatever. AFAIK, the helicopters have not been found.
