There should be a cutter on the guard. You let it out til it hits the guard, and it gets cut to length.

Or when the line starts hitting the guard.
I've never had a problem with the line hitting the guard, just stays horizontal and gets cut to the right length. If your line has *permanent* curls in it, you might try soaking it in hot water and stretching it out straight before winding on the spool.

I was talking about when you add new line.

What happens last night was scary for me.
I put greenworks batteries to charger (24V x 4A), wait to hear beep and to take of batteries from charger.

But instead of this i hear BUM, i intemedially go to see what happens and i see one of them smoke, i take out charger. Then i go to see bateries and i see that other battery have a liquid.
Because its on side it looks like that this battery have a smoke and look like its other. And i am not sure what to do.
Can i use another battery or is best to throw both? The biggest problem is i am not from USA and shipping is slow. Amazon even dont send batteries to my country (they send some tools with batteries but just bateries not).
Batteries and trimmer are almost new. I use trimmer 4 or 5 times. Usually i trim at morning, charg at night. I am soo shoocked. Are anyone have advice what i can do? I was thinking to contact amazon but they allready back money for this trimmer because delivery was weeks late. So i am not sure if they do anything.
I am most curious why this happens.

Sorry for my non perfect english.

Contact greenworks for advice. That should be a warranty replacement. The other battery is /probably/ fine, but there could've been a factory issue where a whole run of batteries was bad.

I am not from USA so i cant call them, i send them numerous mails on every mail i find but no answer.
So what i do, i get 2 new batteries and new charger.
New charger i get is: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B08CKFWCX3/ref=twister_B0CLRY9MD2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
But i get numerous problems:
1. Extremely hot, i cant him turn off and wait untill i can get him, but maybe its ok and i understand so lets with
2. Buzzing, this is not ok, when i turn him on i hears litle zzzzzz.
3. Charger too slow, i put him 6 hours and it not even full charge, i must put him in 2 times for 4 hours if i want to charge this.
4. Battery become empty soo fast. Before this charger batteries last about 40min, now its about 10mins, i cant use string trimmer for any serious job now. 5. When i use this charger battery just lose connection with trimmer and it works 1,2min than turn off, than works 2,3 min etc etc.

Are someone have advices? My question is. Are this charger charge every battery on a2 speed on both? So it split on 2, which is 1a when charge? Can this be problem?

^ Often yes, universal input voltage range is common, but some opt to save 20 cents when making region specific chargers. Either way, the acceptable input voltage should be on the charger label, probably in the manual as well. If you don't have to adapt the plug to your region's outlets, odds are high it works with that region's voltage.

Where did you buy it? If the seller is an authorized distributor then they might handle warranty replacement, if not still within the allowable customer return period.

If the seller does not handle warranty replacement, then seek their supplier's phone # and so on up the chain till you get the # for the Greeworks distributor for your region.

I don't understand why you cannot call them, even if they don't handle your region then they should still be able to give you the phone # of the branch that handles the warranty in your region. I assume your seller and/or manual did list a warranty, and there might be warranty contact info in that warranty statement.

I get greenworks europe mail, cant find number, but they not answer.
So what i do is I buy new batteries and charger:
And have problems i mentioned above. I will try to charge one by one battery, maybe its become too hot and too slow and battery lose some by itself, so maybe its if i charge one by one it will be better, i dont know.

Hmmm yeah if you bought through Amazon you're mostly on your own. You can try to return it through them but it might be too late now. I'm only familiar with the 80v line of tools and their chargers have a fan. Does this one have a fan, and is it running when you charge?

Did you mention what country you're located in? I see a phone # for:
UK: https://www.greenworkstools.co.uk/about-us/
SE: https://greenworkstools.se/pages/kop-vilkor-se

If all else fails, call the US # and ask what the right phone # for your region is:
1-888-90-WORKS (888.909.6757)

Since I am not physically there to monitor what the batteries are doing, I cannot advise what you should do as far as attempting to charge or use any that don't seem to be functioning properly, particularly if overheating. If they don't function correctly using the Greenworks charger then I would conclude that either the battery or charger is defective, determine which one and stop using it.

However, if you use the tool and run the battery down, then throw it on the charger while still warm from that drain, it is not abnormal for it to get warmer still while charging, but i don't know whether the battery or charger has an appropriate thermal cutoff circuit to prevent charging if the battery is too hot. I would not depend on a cutoff and just not recharge the battery after it has heated up from a recent use, would let it sit for a while, say an hour or so and then recharge it.

The pic you posted reads "Before charging, read the instructions". It also reads 230V so we shouldn't have to worry about your mains voltage, assuming your power grid is somewhat stable and in the neighborhood of 220VAC to 240VAC.
