Not technically being a resident of the state of New York, if he leaves and goes back to Florida, will they have to try to extradite if he refuses to report?

IMO ... sadly, Incarceration is unlikely, due to the class e felony, his age and no other convictions.

I wonder what the FOX headlines will be with this story:

“Donald Trump (D) Found Guilty”?

I'm talking about the history books that'll be used to brainwash the youth in American schools.
I never enjoyed reading history in grade school. I eventually took an American history course at a junior college during a summer in order to fulfill a university requirement. IIRC it was pretty much 19th century, and I quite enjoyed it.

SCROTUS is irrelevant in this instance. It's possible that they could decide something after their next term starts in October, but they're already in such deep shit, they'd be smart to just STFU
LOL wut? SC justices have lifetime appointments; clearly Alito and Thomas DGAF about improprieties, and are more than happy to do everything they can to "pwn the libs."

Under NY law, you don't have to be convicted of the other crimes to be found guilty of these felonies. That makes it distinct from Federal law that many commentators are familiar with.
Although correct, wouldn't these convictions be misdemeanors if the FEC deemed there to have been no federal campaign finance violation? I read there's also a potential statute of limitations argument; usually only 5 years but the clock was paused because Trump moved his domicile to Florida. I'm not a laywer, but SCOTUS will Calvinball this shit if it ever gets to them.

I forget to pay a parking ticket I go to jail but this motherfucker's going to walk from a felony conviction with 34 counts with probation and at worst home confinement.
And regardless of the sentence, he'll be free for months or maybe another year.

No, the FEC has no input here and regardless the FEC would never make a determination that this isn’t a violation in a million years. 0% chance of that.

But the crimes occured when he was a New York resident running a NY registered business. NY also has campaign finance laws and whatnot.

SCoTUS might try some funny business, but that would be hard to say at this point.

‘He will never be indicted!’ - Trump is indicted.

‘He will never be convicted!’ - Trump is convicted.

‘He will never serve jail time!’ - we will see!

People who say he will not see jail time could well be right as it is uncommon for first time convictions. That being said, there are major aggravating factors here that could lead to jail time. Namely that he has a well established court record of fraud, so in many ways he is not a first time offender.

That was me. I am totally stunned. I thought for sure there would be at least one Trump supporter to hang the jury...I do not expect him to get any jail time...the logistics if that would be ridiculous...and I still expect the USSC to find fault and overturn the conviction later.

Ahahha Gavin Newsom should just have a roast of DJT everyday on his criminal conviction, with clip of Trump calling Mexican migrants criminals.

I was very confident in this outcome as soon as he lost the 2020 election.

I’m not sure if he will get jail time for this but it is a definite possibility and the logistics don’t have to be that ridiculous. Prisons incarcerate famous people reasonably frequently, after all, and there’s no requirement he keep secret service protection.

As for if SCOTUS would overturn this I tend to think no. SCOTUS has definitely shown bias for Trump but they have exercised this by slow walking unfavorable cases before (usually) ruling against Trump.

Trump's prison SS would be the Aryan Brotherhood. Probably will offer them all pardons.
