So Strix Halo has an LP model for handhelds?
Like I mentioned before, it's a hidden feature, not a dedicated SKU or something. Again, think back to the old patent someone brought up a few days ago and my response to it.

(Sorry for not being forthright, but I know certain news outlets check up on AT Forums and I'm quite wary of it).

Hmmm...so I guess there is special circuitry that can be turned on to enable power efficient pathways and turning off some sections to conserve power?

Yeah, apparently so. I think this is probably a screenshot of his Patreon or something? Idk.

Anyway, remember that patent that was brought up last week? Wink wink nudge nudge.
I missed it, did you mean this one?

Here is what he does well: he had the founder of SemiWiki.com on again a few days ago. I got around to listening to it, and Daniel Nenni is an outstanding guest. Some fun Q&A stuff, and he provides insight on the topics. He has a lot of good things to say about AMD's CPUs and what they have done for x86. He says since TSMC won't package anyone else's stuff it is highly unlikely AMD will be using Samsung as the rumors suggest.

He made a comment at the end that he does not know where Ohio is going to get the water for the fabs. He posited they might have to truck it in.

He reinforced what some of the gang here has stated about AMD price gouging ASAP if the opportunity is there. He says everyone has gone higher ASP not just big green.

He says Jensen Huang is one of his favorite CEOs. Gave his cuz Lisa Su a shout out too. Says he is the most relaxed he has ever seen him. That he is definitely taking some well deserved victory laps. He does not think the speculation about taking their foot off the gas in the gaming space will happen because of their relationship with their partners and the economy of scale involved.

He thinks A.I. is a bubble of sorts for hardware, but it will be part of our everyday lives as time goes by. And as software addresses the crazy bloat.

He thinks RISC-V is becoming formidable now that it is winning on merit.

Lots of good stuff in that podcast. It is a shame he relies on wild conjecture and sus sources for his content. He is a decent interviewer.

I enjoyed the clickbait title 'Nvidia buying Intel'. It's an interesting thought.

(from thread "Zen 5 Speculation (EPYC Turin and Strix Point/Granite Ridge - Ryzen 9000)")
Nothing has changed of what we know about MLID's quality of sources, background checking, interpretations, and outright inventions.
You're objectively wrong. His info about zen 5 has not been discredited, yet.
Those of MLID's Zen 5 related info
– which either match what AMD made public so far,
– or was not discredited yet while we await AMD's or reviewers' further info,
did not change what we know about MLID's quality of sources, background checking, interpretations, and outright inventions.

I'm hit or miss on MLID. Some of his stuff I like and other stuff not so much. He does occasionally have pretty good business takes, but other times he can be wildly off. It's entertainment. I don't think he has bad intentions.

MLID is not a serious source but he's not a complete clown either.
I think he's a great storyteller for this industry, but the fact is that he doesn't care about the actual technical works nearly as much as even just random posters of this forum.
He basically eyeballs everything and doesn't care about any details. This helps him a lot wrt popularity because his speech is easily understandable, but he's limited on what he actually understands.

He also more or less has SOME info, and some other stuff he merely invents or embellishes greatly.

Frankly I think most of his haters are jealous of his more or less undeserved success, and his ego makes him very unsympathetic. But he's not nearly as terrible as they say, he's just a hack, and hacks are great at being entry points for normies. I started caring about the semiconductor industry through MLID. I listened to him for over a year, before realising that some/quite a bit of his stuff was more or less invented. He eventually made me arrive here indirectly. He onboards people into the semi industry and has made many interesting 2 hour long interviews, but he shouldn't be seen as reliable. I still sometimes listen to him when he's got a good guest on Broken Silicon or when there is a fun leak, but I listen to him as a storyteller, not a leaker.

Not on my iPad, unfortunately.

Download Firefox Focus. It is a browser, but it is also an adblocker for Safari, and can be enabled as such in the settings menu. Or at least that's what I've used on my iPhone for many years, and I assume it works on iPads.

I won't say it blocks 100% of ads, but close enough. And importantly it has always and still does block whatever Youtube is doing for ads.
