Yea i'm sick of the ways the republicans are using the legal system to slow things down. This has nothing to do with his guilt or even how evidence was collected. It is an independent tangent issue.

The same for the 2 federal cases. Bullshit legal system.
The way the case was charged meant it was never going to happen before the election no matter what republicans did.

lol.

Honestly at this point I hope you realize how funny I find your diaper filling.
Well...filled diaper or not, he could be right. If Trump wins in November, this case, like the Flori-duh federal documents case, will just disappear. In 4 years, (just guessing) the Jaw-Ja statute of limitations might have kicked in.
HOWEVER, if Trump LOSES in November...all bets are off.

Yes it is true that if Trump wins he will wipe out a whole bunch of felonies he committed.

Remember. Trump is an absolutely gigantic felon who is trying to stay out of prison.

Right, he'd guaranteed pardon himself if he's able. Only the state charges/convictions would remain.

It would almost certainly halt any pending indictments or trials as well if he's re-elected.

Well I recall back in 2020 the pucker factor was high irt the Biden/Trump contest and I sure was glad the folks who actually gave Biden the margin of victory had made their decision with their heads screwed on nice and tight. You'd think this time around Biden should win by a larger margin given how Trump's malevolence and malfeasance was given a nice show and tell along with how he has made it quite clear he will kick democracy out of America and set up a nice cozy dictatorship for himself and all of those ass sucking sycophants of his, with the blessing of the full party membership no less. I think they all realize that cheating their way into propping up an GOP owned and operated authoritarian state is the only way they're going to seize and keep power out of the hands of the majority.

And as bad as things are now, the Supreme Court will be in much more danger of becoming the GOP Hack and Sack the Constitution Fire Sale of the century unless the independents and fence sitters fully realize how bad things will become should Trump win this time around. More than ever before, Trump should never be allowed to get anywhere near the White House again. His miserable performance as POTUS should speak for itself yet I marvel at how his crimes and anti-social anti-democratic behavior has been glossed over by their party faithful. Simply amazing.

Listen up, if you as a society actually executes the concept of a self-pardon its fucking game over. Might as well play Russian-Conscript-Roulette and load up all six rounds and pull.
In terms of western oriented democratic politics it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

We are getting pretty close. There was a time where people believed it was advantageous to have legal questions litigated before a presidential election. Now we have the Supreme Court, a Federal Judge, and a State appeals court all putting their hands on the scale. The fact that Alito was flying an upside down flag near the inauguration should have been enough for him to resign from the bench let alone be recused from any case that touches Trump. We're in a spiral and the Democrats are too weak to meet the moment.

I agree if by "weak" you mean do not have enough power to stop it. Ultimately it is up to the population to give Democrats enough power to fix things. Of course, Republicans have their hands on a bunch of the voting scales as well.

I would say Garland has been a little bitch in his position though, and what has his slow-walking don't upset the system too much approach gained him? Nothing. He's still accused of being a partisan hack. We really needed Warren or someone similar in that role.

I doubt they will go with the self-pardon. More likely is that if Trump wins he will find an excuse to temporarily transfer power to his VP under the 25th amendment, and during that time his VP will pardon him.

Wouldn't surprise me if that is one of the vetting questions for his vp...

Still... Imagine the Orange in prison AND he wins the election. Inauguration day he transfers power to vice, pardon, power transferred back. Thats still a self pardon in my book.

Only if it is federal prison. He can't get pardoned from a state sentence by using federal powers. I don't even know how the nation would handle that.
I was watching Fox News (because I like to hear different views) when they announced the 34 convictions and the first thing they talked about after it was announced was what powers he could use if he won the Presidency to pressure the governor of NY to pardon him.

Nah he’ll just use presidential immunity to assassinate NY governors until one will pardon him
