I never knew how deep this rabbit hole goes...

The article itself is quite fascinating, but then there's a comment mentioning a Russian (!) small manufacturer of Voodoo 3xxx, 4xxx and even 5xxx cards, along with Savage and Rendition equivalents.
And they're NOT cheap! The site even has a cheeky Latin motto which underlines that their prices are not for the faint-hearted.

Perfect for a trip down memory lane but I don't want to pay more than $100 for my VoodooX 64MB PCIe 2.0 card...

Hopefully this project catches Jensen's eye. He can put some intern engineers on it

But yeah don't expect him to sell it for $100

HOWEVER, he can have his software team design a perfect Voodoo emulator since they have all the IP locked away somewhere. That I would pay $100 for gladly. But it has to work with all Geforce 9xx, 1xxx cards and above.

What's his email? jensen@nvidia.com?

Not trying to be a hipster doofus, but did people not know this was kinda a thing? Besides the effort for modernizing retro consoles (everything from mods of original to FPGA stuff of Analogue or even just the style applied to modern that 8BitDo does, and everything in between), there's been a bunch of old sound cards done like this. I knew they were getting into graphics cards but I don't really have any interest in it myself so hadn't been keeping up (rely on LGR to mention anything like that, where its interesting but not something I have any interest in seeking out myself).

Don't even get started on all the retro aspects going in on audio, from vinyl (including cheap turntables made to look like every version of turntables from wood to the art deco styled ones, to the 80s), to reel to reel, walkmans, CD players and other silliness. I'm waiting for someone to make a retro Minidisc player (heck, it might would even be Sony themselves). I think Ars had an article about someone making a case that you can slot an Apple watch into and basically turn it into an iPod. Which if they'd found a way to integrate the AirPods case it could've actually been a cool product that really melds now with the past.

Anyone remember those PC cases styled like old radios? Newegg used to have one that I thought about, but just wouldn't have been very good for a PC case ultimately so I never bought one. But I liked the idea. Klipsch also made retro styled version of the ProMedias for a bit as well. I did kinda want them as I definitely preferred the looks over the normal Promedia 2.1, but I wanted bigger (but not overly so - I have some Swans M200, the first gen ones, and they're just too awkwardly shaped and large, but they still sound good and I'm not gonna find anything comparable for the $100 I paid for them - every so often I think about buying a soundbar but I'd have to pay like $1000 for something comparable in music because they're all focused on Dolby Atmos surround BS and offering people better hearing of dialogue because of how poorly mixed/mastered so much content is these days).

Even though I don't have any nostalgia for the Commodore 64, I actually really want 8BitDo's C64 mechanical keyboard and other (joystick, big 2 button controller thing, and coming soon a calculator), because I like the aesthetic (I like the NES one too, but the C64 colors matches my current computer stuff more), and it seems to offer what I'd want in a keyboard otherwise. Unfortunately they only have a mouse that matches the NES, and it doesn't have a scroll wheel and the buttons would probably get annoying - wish they'd swap the dpad and the buttons, make normal mouse buttons with the dpad serving as the scroll wheel (enabling horizontal and vertical scrolling), A/B could be back/forward or maybe add Start/Select and then let you program different modes which select would cycle through and Start could be set to pause and bring up menu. And I'd likely want to replace the switches, so all told I'

Maybe, just find a street vendor to cut him or whatever he was babbling about onstage while waxing poetic about his nostalgia for night markets. Quick, someone do an AI version of the Seinfeld episode about the woman talking about the cashmere sweater and replace her with Jensen and the cashmere with graphics card.

Which, someone should make a digital celebrity marketing bot that looks like Jensen and just spouts "the more you buy the more you save".

We sort of have this already in dgvoodoo, and it's free. It has better glide support than some of the actual 3dfx cards, especially the Voodoo3 onward.
