MLID is not a serious source but he's not a complete clown either.
I think he's a great storyteller for this industry, but the fact is that he doesn't care about the actual technical works nearly as much as even just random posters of this forum.
He basically eyeballs everything and doesn't care about any details. This helps him a lot wrt popularity because his speech is easily understandable, but he's limited on what he actually understands.
He also more or less has SOME info, and some other stuff he merely invents or embellishes greatly.
Frankly I think most of his haters are jealous of his more or less undeserved success, and his ego makes him very unsympathetic. But he's not nearly as terrible as they say, he's just a hack, and hacks are great at being entry points for normies. I started caring about the semiconductor industry through MLID. I listened to him for over a year, before realising that some/quite a bit of his stuff was more or less invented. He eventually made me arrive here indirectly. He onboards people into the semi industry and has made many interesting 2 hour long interviews, but he shouldn't be seen as reliable. I still sometimes listen to him when he's got a good guest on Broken Silicon or when there is a fun leak, but I listen to him as a storyteller, not a leaker.
