The only one in denial is you magats!

And no point really talking to one who clearly denies basic facts. Off to ignore for another inbred piece of shit who doesn't have the basic IQ to tell a con.
Keep telling yourself that.

I'm perfectly ok with giving weapons to people who want to defend themselves from a dictator. As long you're ok with invading dictatorships I guess we should do nothing.
I would prefer de-escalation.

But as long as we're going to engage in proxy warfare I guess well just hope for the best out of it. As the politicians in charge prefer to stay the course.

____________
The alternatives to supporting Ukraine are Russia leaving or a Russian genocide against the Ukrainian people. Russia doesn't seem interested in leaving and does seem very interested in committing genocide so supporting Ukraine is a reasonable approach.

Russia can end the war at any moment. All the Russians need to do is leave Ukraine. It's so simple.
If only it was so simple.

prior to his career as the CIA chief Bill Burns was stationed in the U.S. Embassy in Russia during the 90s he had occasion speak to many Russian officials.

https://www.salon.com/2023/09/10/is-cia-director-bill-burns-biden-yes-man-putin-apologist-or-peacemaker/

In his memoir "The Back Channel," published in 2019, Burns confirmed that in 1990, Secretary of State James Baker had indeed assured Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev that there would be no expansion of the NATO alliance or forces "one inch to the east" of the borders of a reunified Germany. Burns wrote that even though the pledge was never formalized and was made before the breakup of the Soviet Union, the Russians took Baker at his word and felt betrayed by NATO enlargement in the years that followed.

In addition to this personal email, he wrote a meticulous 12-point official cable to Secretary Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates, which only came to light thanks to a WikiLeaks diplomatic cable dump in 2010.

Dated Feb. 1, 2008, the memo's subject line, in all caps, could not have been more clear: NYET MEANS NYET: RUSSIA'S NATO ENLARGEMENT REDLINES.
In no uncertain terms, Burns conveyed the intense opposition he had heard from Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and other senior officials, stressing that Russia would view further NATO eastward expansion as a potential military threat.

if that is all just water under the bridge and whatever might have happened in the past that led to Russia's invasion be damned...
ok. fine.

At least I know now that's the attitude of some.

Russian genocide against the Ukrainian people
Now some in government are hypocrites on that regard.
they loved it when the ICJ charged Putin and not so much when Netanyahu was under the same scrutiny.
who knows maybe they'd make lovely cell mates.

____________
As the aggressor the power to de-escalate is and always has been in Russia’s power. We need to remember that Russia steadily ramped up its aggression against Ukraine over 8 years. The failure to push back at each step only emboldened Putin to push further to the point he wanted to conquer an independent country and in 2022 took steps to do just that.

So? Throw both their asses in prison. Doesn't justify Russia's invasion of Ukraine or the many war crimes committed by Russians.

You're basically arguing that the Ukrainians should lay back and take it. That's pretty gross.

Put it another way, from some of your posts here I don't think you align yourself with the freedom caucus nut jobs and Trump, but here for some weird reason you are. Maybe you should think about that means for the morality of your position. You and Marjorie Taylor Greene are on the same side.
That's pretty much what those who have nothing to say about the shelling of Ukraine citizens in Donetsk (who had misfortune of being culturally Russian are arguing) by Kiev in the 2016 CNN international story seem to be arguing.

If we're going with the argument that both are responsible for Genocide. well...

It's not a justification, it would be a punishment for the crime. or maybe the death sentence is applicable?

who are they?

I'm curious. Or is it that anyone who is wary of the MIC is automatically named such under the NeoMcCarthyism applied to people who think the failed peace talks (which have been link to by another poster in this thread) a squandered opportunity? To stop conflict that is resulting in massive casualties.

As an supplement to their post which I hope to link here after a search.

This is an article that covers the same subject of failed 2022 peace negotiations that was in post #37,908 of this thread

I saw an idiotic post that mentioned older munitions given to Ukraine from U.S. as "killing Russians for free"

I guess the Ukrainian lives it cost to obtain the Russian deaths isn't really a thought for them.

@Young Grasshopper is the main one in here, there are a couple others whose names I can’t recall that disappeared at the same time. I don’t know who you are but so far you’re just a run of the mill dumbass who oddly thinks that Ukrainians shouldn’t defend themselves against invading rapists and murderers. Doubt you’re a Russian troll, just propagandized. Any Russian peace agreement with Putin in charge of their government is a joke and the Ukrainians are smart enough to know that even if you aren’t.
