America cannot possibly be "Great Again", due to the aberrant beliefs and extreme actions of the MAGA.
Steve Bannon insists that "they are at war". This "warfare" is based on a means-justifies-ends murder of the Truth.
It is a culture of people who don't want to pay taxes -- primarily. They want to destroy institutions that arose by blood, sweat and tears of the last 100 years or so. Instead of requiring Congress to eliminate this or that cabinet agency, they want to introduce termites into the bureaucracy to destroy from within. So -- yes -- they are "at war".
Bannon's mantra -- also Trump's -- about a "deep state" is a myth about large organizations created to serve citizens of a large country and a large economy.
Somehow, they think that eliminating the non-partisan basis of the civil service is a good thing, but then -- that eliminates any promise or guarantee that the government serves everyone equally.
So, at this point, I sit on the edge with violent thoughts and occasional wishes for a civil war.
I was especially stunned at the idea put forward by one of Trump's Supreme appointments. I think she remarked that "abortion is a question best left up to the states." But -- that's absurd. It is either a basic human right, or it isn't. And if it is, it shouldn't be left to the states.
They have no logic, no common-sense. Their media of falsehood and lies just wastes everyone's time and money.
The "fence-sitters" and independents recently spotlighted by the LA Times are also foolish. They think this is about a smorgasbord of choice, or that they're important and capable enough that they shouldn't need to choose either -- Trump or Biden.
The entire country lacks a sense of humility, recognizing that we vote as much to satisfy ourselves that we contributed to the choice, as to just win.
Their Project 2025 is a serious threat to the entire country. They think they should just reverse all the progress this country has seen for the last 100 years.
In effect, they hate America as it is and as it has been, or how it has evolved. This hatred allows them to lie and assert their "patriotism". They cannot be allowed to govern.
Period.
