Actually, it's pretty good compared to Microsoft Surface Pro 9 5GIn contrast to most other places, the people at r/Surface are raving about how good Snapdragon X Elite is.

It IS a really good chip and Qualcomm made a tremendous achievement. If they just said., “we are going to enter the laptop market and be alongside the leaders from day one” they could’ve gotten nothing but applause. It’s probably a lot of power management/firmware/driver/BIOS tweaks that need to be made but who doesn’t need to do that.In contrast to most other places, the people at r/Surface are raving about how good Snapdragon X Elite is.

Strix should reduce that gap by a minute. Can't win everything.isn’t AMD still 2 minutes slower? That’s still bad for non-beta x86 silicon.
ORWe have reached the 100th page of this thread, X Elite is out now, and everything has fallen apart.
Whoa, really? Show us the extensive 3rd party benchmarks! Preferably in the Zen5 speculation thread.yes. I don’t need another hype cycle.
That comparison makes 8840hs looks like a beta product compared to Snapdragon 😜I knew it!

See how bad Intel's beta silicon made x86 look in comparison?
Hawk point is much better and Strix point should be competitive though not holding my breath. Handbrake loves cache which the SD X has more of.
Anyway, now that he has tested an AMD laptop, I forgive you, Avram.
SD E X has higher speed RAM and more cache. The perfect storm for blowing away cores that are bandwidth starved.More seriously, was it HW accelerated on Snapdragon?
I don’t really care about Zen 5 anymore, all aboard the Zen 6 hype train.Whoa, really? Show us the extensive 3rd party benchmarks! Preferably in the Zen5 speculation thread.
Disappointing. Guess we'll have to wait for actual reviews then. Just like we did with SDXE.I don’t really care about Zen 5 anymore, all aboard the Zen 6 hype train.
Mike Clark didn't want to wake up to buy Zen 6 so we can safely ignore it.all aboard the Zen 6 hype train.
It will be a great jump over Hawk Point but we were promised something greater in our minds.Disappointing. Guess we'll have to wait for actual reviews then. Just like we did with SDXE.
That will do. /sOR
Maybe QC is selling their worst chips first
It's ok but QC promised unquestionable leadership, repeatedly, over the span of ~9 months, especially wrt battery life and it's just not that.and everything has fallen apart.
I think their battery guy sold all his shares at the last minute and ran off.especially wrt battery life and it's just not that.
yeah I'm no longer sure they're gonna clock em that high.(2 × 4.2 GHz) + (6 × 3.0 GHz)
Okay...We are excited to announce the latest advancements in gaming compatibility on Arm: anti-cheat solutions such as BattlEye, Denuvo Anti-Cheat, and Wellbia XIGNCODE3 / UNCHEATER all now support Windows on Arm! Anti-cheat support on Arm means gamers can enjoy their favorite titles securely and fairly, on Copilot+ PCs.
Microsoft is adding more fuel to the hype train.Prepare for Gaming on Arm!
July to AugustSo... uh... when are the strix laptops available? Asking for a friend...
ARL-U hype? Hahaha, ok that's funny. If hype makes a product bad then there is no hope. Even Arrow Lake U has hype beasts now.
That's the idea. Though 2+4 is ehh. Poverty can't complain much I guess.Maybe Purwa is super-cheap and goes down to $600 devices in a 2+4 config and thus wins something?
They can't because PC Gaming is attached to Console Gaming and Arm is very far from even providing a decent PC Gaming experience.Microsoft will take gaming graphics a step backward to make them run better on SD E X laptops. More "innovations" to come!
