This occurred years ago. The victims tried to get this out years ago but the pastor at the time just chalked it up to an indiscretion with a young lady. He failed to mention the “young lady” was 12 years old. This guy was part of a movements blaming teachers for grooming children.

Well isn’t that nice. He also blamed the 12 year old for being a Jezebel.

Once taboos become the foundation a society uses to suppress sexuality by conflating it with notions of evil, as so often happens in reality denying fundamentalist churches, the sexual urge will fester out of sight and underground. Such people will fixate of developing a persona that is of such magnitude as to deflect any suspicion of deviant behavior and all manner of obsessive thinking and planning will occur as to how to satisfy lust without getting caught.

The more sexual suppression that goes on in a society the greater the number of abusers. This will lead to great opportunities to take economic advantage of such needs. Human trafficking, high power lawyers, porn, prostitution, and sellers of reputation are some examples.

Well I hope other women who may have been molested when they were children by this so called "pastor" come forward and get that guy defrocked, or send him on a mission to the deepest darkest parts of Africa as an emissary of God where he can do penance for the rest of his life. It seems to me it's hard not to suspect that that pastor's sexual predilection for children can simply be turned off. Don't know what the success rate is for sexual offenders to reform themselves, but at the least that guy should never be left alone with young girls ever again.

I'd say it's a safe bet that some elders in that church knew about his nasty habit but kept mum about it because after repeatedly praying to the Lord they came to the same conclusion that "it's the right thing to do", never mind that the little girl will permanently suffer the stigma and shame of being molested by no less than a religious man of stature of whom God speaks through.

Hopefully not full blown cw but it does seem like it's heading to an inflection point. Cult of MAGA is gonna keep on pushing to overthrow/reengineer America Project 25 until its *stopped*. I dont see it happening until you deal with the American Taliban Propaganda outlets.

Well that's the problem. Even if we get past 2024, what about 2028 and beyond? These groups are not moderating their views. Whoever takes up Trump's mantle will HAVE to be even more extreme to keep it going.

Just balkanize and set up free trade/non aggression treaties and get it over with.

We'll see if the GOP can manage to get lightning in a bottle like they did with Trump after he is gone. There are a LOT of creepy nasty assholes in the world, but not a lot of them manage to combine it with whatever lizard charisma Trump has. There's no logical reason someone who looks and acts like him, and who has failed at business a bunch of times, should be a center of attention but he is.

I haven't seen one yet that manages it. Desantis? Please, once he got out nationwide people just saw him as a dumpy clod with weird facial expressions. Santos was weird and lied enough to be the next Trump. He's probably the closest thing to the perfect post-Trump modern Republican there is. The "ethnic" name will hold him back with all the white is right types though.

Who gives a shit if suburban (butt)crack commandos get upset over the election. Maybe they'll go water the tree of liberty like the saying goes. The important thing is that they are upset, because it means Trump actually lost despite what are likely to be many attempts (again) to steal the election by Trump zealots.

I'll worry about 2028 when we are past 2024. I mean, I do because I'm voting for people who at least aren't denying climate change, but I don't worry about Maga people and what they believe. Fuck them, I just avoid them when I can. They have their own reality. What's the saying: you can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into?

Trump himself said that he used to go into the changing rooms of under aged girls and watch them getting changed, and that it was ok because he ran the beauty contests.

The religious part of Trump’s base doesn’t care about sexual assault or sexual deviancy as long as it’s men doing it to young girls. The real issue is those young girls won’t stop “tempting” the good and godly men.

Personally I place no credibility in the claim that this person ever acted as Trump's "spiritual consultant." I imagine that every evangelical that strays within shouting distance of Trump will of course claim they are his spiritual consultant but I am 100% certain he pays absolutely no attention to them.

The closest Trump ever had to a "spiritual consultant" was Roy Cohen.
