Question Can't connect to Synology NAS

I had a z240 running one of my TV's but the i7-6700 was not fast enough for high definition video. So I swapped it for a z420 with an E5-2690 v2. 400mhz slower 10 vs 4 cores makes a huge difference but my Synology NAS will not connect. The system connected to my XigmaNAS microserver by it self but will not contect to the Synology. It shows up as a device but the Synology software gives me a "can't find shared folders" error. Every other computer I have connects just fine both Win7 and Win10.

There are actually some access controls hidden within Synology Media Server. (I believe the default is to reject new clients.)

Thanks I'll take a look. I thought there may be some default setting screwing things up. I have a catastrophic network fail going on right now so have to get that figured out first before I can look into it.

I use an i7 6700 in my server. It is most definitely fast enough for high definition video. It will play 4K with ease.

Mine had problems with anything over 1080p with stuttering and pixelization. I tried from my network, over USB 3.0 and from a local hard drive. I can check it when I have time to put it back on the bench but the 10 core has no similar issues.

Again, my i7 6700 has ZERO issues playing 4K, either with VLC or Plex. It also plays flawlessly over the network.

Not sure why mine is having a problem. It has 32Gb of PC2133 DDR4 and boots from an NVMe drive.

I have no video card in the server. So, the CPU has to do all the grunt work to decode the video file. Don't know what to tell you.

It was a lot easier to swap it out for a different machine rather than try to figure it out.
