In my opinion they are reporting the factual crimes that happen. At times they are a bit dramatic just like the other news stations in their reporting. They all do what they think they need to get eyeballs on the screen. None of them are 100% honest and tend to be over dramatic.

I have been to New York once way back in the mid 70's. I thought it sucked and vowed to never go back again. So far I've managed to hold onto that vow.

Holy shit, I wasn't even born then.

I remember it was bad when Hurricane Gloria was kicking our ass like the matrix, then stopping mid fight.. sun comes out, birds start chirping, camera swings around like the matrix and then go back to kicking ass..

But it's usually not that bad everyday. And the biggest shithole in NYC has always been Trump Hotels. Full of bedbugs!

The kind of progressive I think that conservative media (and its viewers) think are 'normal' progressive is the kind that really cares who you are and what you think. Now I could write a dissertation on why they think that and why they have the opinions they do on that topic, but regarding NYC it's totally, utterly false.
