I'd like to clarify that I have nothing against the bible. If it is part of your religion, you have a right to it.

My issue is the attempted indoctrination of our youth into a religion they do not believe in. It smacks of the crusades, where the church went to war to either convert the nonbelievers, or have less nonbelievers in the world one death at a time.

If you want the bible in a class, because it is a historical document, then put it in a history class and it should only be used when teaching about religion in history, or put the bible in a mythology class because not everyone believes in it. It does not belong in every classroom.

What they're attempting is pure shenanigans and we all know it. Any attempt to say otherwise is sophistry.

Can't wait for the literature teachers to teach the Bible in an extreme critical literature review fashion to fulfill the requirements set out by the state while it works its way through conservative-packed courts. Oklahoma Republicans on teaching the Bible: "not like that".

My own personal radicalization against organized religion probably began in the 4th grade when they made us recite from memory the books of the bible in order on a daily basis. It seemed pointless even at that age.
