This was her layman's explanation of the Ukraine invasion:

So, Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong, and it goes against everything that we stand for.”
She was correct*. Who was the audience?

* Unless it is the U.S. doing the invading; that's different.

I feel like I'm living in effing 2016 again. When these people get Trump elected and he replaces at least Thomas and Alito with 35 year old theocrats will they realize the error of their ways.

Conservatives have a lot of flaws. You could say it's their defining characteristic. But they are focused and goal oriented and know how to play the long game. They would never torpedo a whole election based on one gaffe.

I guarantee you these same posters who are shitting themselves were Bernie supporters. I doubt they learned any lessons from that.

I'm voting for policy and to keep Trump/the right wing crazies out of power. This desire is not beholden to any particular candidate unreasonably which is why whoever emerged from the 2020 Dem primary was getting my vote. If Biden retains the nomination for 2024 or it's somebody else same thing. My preference here would be for Biden to say I've done my duty and respectfully pas the baton. Biden's done a good job and he should take a victory lap in the process but acknowledge the reality that he's gotten older and that a change is desired, a position that he will respect.
I personally would like to see a lot of people talking about the role of the president and a focus on policies. How a Dem president will continue to support the policies that make life better for most people. Focus on how bad republican policies are and say any dem president can slot in and respond to emergencies in a rational manner because they are not egotistical babies. Normalize the policies and not the person.

Could DJT even pick out Ukraine on a world map?

If that's all it took, Dems would win every presidential election. FFS ~ 15% of voters think it's Biden's fault that the Supremes overturned Roe v. Wade.

Not to disagree that we need to do a lot better; for his warts, Joe Biden shouldn't be trailing in the GE polls right now.

I think a sizable chunk of voters have actually done this at least internally is which is why Biden has not suffered a total collapse in the polling.

It was a regular interview.

If any republican provided that as an explanation, this place would have a field day over it. But since it was Kamala, it isn't a big deal. Funny how that works.

You sure spend a lot of time fantasizing about how others would react to your scenarios and applying judgements to responses that only exist in your head.

Indeed. But if these bedwetters plainly said we will support democracy no matter what instead of this I’m not sure who or even if I plan to vote isn’t helping. If Biden (and other potential candidates) was polling at 55%, I bet he wouldn’t have announced he plans to run again. This chicken little is just helping Repugnicans

In my opinion it would finally be the end of Trump and the beginning of the decline in MAGA politics if Biden were to win and I think the smell of such victory was becoming quite palpable. But do you know what that would mean for liberals. Victory of course and what is the last emotional feeling no self hating liberal can abide, the horrible sensations that arise when you get something you know you don't deserve. No self hater can ever allow themselves the feeling they deserve to win because it's always for people that feel worthy that calamity happens. So please please my fellow liberals, lets destroy everything first. We can sleep soundly only in a state of misery. And of course we must ignore the fact that for some strange reason we were simply fated to lose. It's just our luck and without failure we'd have no luck at all.
I have noticed that almost all of your ramblings simply don't apply to me. I think deep down you are a conservative braided person and can't really appreciate that not everyone thinks and feels like you do. It's a key characteristic of conservative brained people. They simply lack empathy.

When I read your posts about ego, fear and self hate, I simply think those things are true of conservative brained people and much less so liberal brained people. I certainly don't relate to most things you say.

Please note that I am referring to their brain wiring, not necessarily political affiliations. It is a spectrum and doesn't always lead to specific voting trends, just how they behave and think.

If Trump said that , you would be laughing your ass off...
Name for me one time, just ONE TIME, when DJT said something about foreign policy where you thought to yourself, "that makes good sense." (And nothing orthodox and obvious like "I support Israel.")

I don't get too hung up over someone having an occasional brain fart or senior moment.

I LMAO about things such as Trump calling his CURRENT wife Mercedes.

Dot, not feather. Fckn Europeans…calling our natives “Indians” because they were too stupid to realize they hadn’t gotten to India.
I guess it doesn't matter, excluding a candidate because a specific block of racist voters might not vote for them is kind of .. well, conservative.

So Biden is fucked either way. There are more and more votes of no confidence coming from within his party, donors, etc. Even if he can weather the storm and even IF he puts together some semi-decent and coherent appearances, the media sharks are out for blood and will absolutely find another way to hurt him.

Look, Kamala will be a long shot too, but to think we flushed it all away because Biden insisted on listening to Hunter and Jill... inexcusable.

Biden, not Biden; Trump still loses. I think Joe understands that.

Ultimately outright dementia, treason and an assault on women's reproductive rights all outweigh Biden's deluded senior moments. Add to it a Trump win likely means goodbye climate goals and severely endangers NATO and all of Europe. Too much serious harm potential and too many young people aware of it, to say nothing of how no one wants to think about Trump having the SCROTUS' blessing to do whatever the hell he wants.

I wanted someone younger too, but this is the ride now. We gotta wait until it stops to get off. At least he's been doing a pretty good job, isn't evil or a Russian asset.
