Been following all this Intel stuff. In January I built a 13900K system. I have just finished a 14900K system.

My systems are not gaming systems. The 14900K system has a RX550 video card just to drive the Y70 touch panel. On both systems I use the CPU to drive the main display. The AIOs in both systems keep CPU and liquid temps under 40c in a room that is normally 26c.

Am I in real danger of having a future problem?

Yes, but it’s not a guarantee. Keep your receipts just in case. Intel announced they are extending their warranty to 5 years for boxed, retail processors.

update the newest bios.
Yes, but also be on the watch for further BIOS updates in latter half of august and in september, install all BIOS updates that come out.

The update that Intel intends to fix the main issue with is not yet available, it's planned to go out around the middle of august.

Just checked the ASRock site. The latest BIOS update has microcode 125 in it. BIOS says I am at 123. Now formatting a USB drive to FAT32. BIOS updates need to handle exFAT or, better yet, NTFS.

Watch this video for background info.
Basically check your max vid (around 10 min in the video) ,if it shows close to, or even higher than, 1.5V then look into bios settings, if voltage settings are too complicated for you then just lower the max clocks by 100Mhz or something so that the CPU asks for less voltage.
The real voltage is usually higher than what hwinfo shows.

You need to manually adjust the voltage to not exceed 1.35v. The newest bios is still pushing these chips too hard.

Manually adjust multiplier to 54/55. Then gradually drop the vcore until it’s no longer stable. Readjust back to stability. Run some stress test and make sure voltage is not going over 1.35v. You might have to play with the load line some as well.

You should be able to google an exact guide for your board if you’re unfamiliar with its settings.
