Oh it can.All things being equal, a comfortable lounge chair and a big TV can't be beat when it comes to gaming.

Maybe? I don't own anything Apple. Steam Link is either a physical box or an app. My first playthrough of Dark Souls 3 was streaming from my PC to my TV via the Steam Link Android app.I'm not familiar with Steam link. This is not unusual. You mean, like how I can use airplay on my Macbook to show stuff on Apple TV? Do you lose any performance or is there any input lag? If not, I may try it out.

Yeah I don't give a crap about any of the fancy HDR stuff until all of those features work with 60fps. I play all my games at 1080p still as well. And they look great on a 10 foot screen. My projector is 12 years old at this point though and true 4k projectors still aren't in the price range I want to pay ($3kish) for one. Thankfully though I don't really care though since the current consoles can't do 4k60/hdr/ray tracing/etc right now anyways. They can't even do 1080p60/hdr/ray tracing for the most part lol.Yeah, it can.
On the flipside, sometimes I wonder what having a nice 77" OLED would be like for gaming, with the room and seating distance all setup for it.
Going from my solid 85" XBR Sony down to my 90" (small room) Epson projected image, sometimes I yearn for the better HDR, contrast and focus consistency of the higher end TV.
I don't yearn for the mines though. Don't send me there!
That could be a Sony thing. Their processing is supposed to be the best of all the TV makers. The other brand that reviews seem to favor in terms of picture processing is Philips. So I believe the solution to your yearning is a 4K Sony projectorGoing from my solid 85" XBR Sony down to my 90" (small room) Epson projected image, sometimes I yearn for the better HDR, contrast and focus consistency of the higher end TV.
HDR works fine even on the Xbox One S. You must be referring to raytracing.Yeah I don't give a crap about any of the fancy HDR stuff until all of those features work with 60fps.
I'm not saying it doesn't work fine, I'm saying that all these fancy features don't work very well when trying to get everything that is touted like 4k60, hdr, and ray tracing. You basically have to pick 1 or 2 of those.HDR works fine even on the Xbox One S. You must be referring to raytracing.
HDR is just tonemapping, wider color gamut and boosting of highlights to make them seem more "real". You can absolutely have 4K60 and HDR and there is almost zero effect on framerate coz it's handled by the TV's processor. It's more impactful than adding raytracing on top. It's the fun kind of eye candy where you just enjoy the visuals more because of the realistic light sources in the scene and the intense colors.I'm saying that all these fancy features don't work very well when trying to get everything that is touted like 4k60, hdr, and ray tracing. From what I've heard (never used it though) it adds input lag, so either way, to me that effects "performance" when playing, regardless if it's on the PS5 or the TV that causes this added input lag. I know I didn't mention the input lag earlier though so that is my bad about that.HDR is just tonemapping, wider color gamut and boosting of highlights to make them seem more "real". Yeah I am super sensitive to it and play fighting games, and recently I've even been contemplating hooking my PS5 up to a monitor with less lag. My projector has like 35ms of input lag in game mode, but I have a monitor that has 10ms of input lag, and that can make a noticeable difference in especially fighting games. This sounds fun! I'm with you on the input lag, and just can't have it with some games, e.g., Elden Ring & DLC, Lies of P, etc...
Will probably be more like the difference between GTA VI running 1440p30 on the PS5 Pro vs 1080p30 on the base PS5.So I circled back to some of the articles posted in March that there is to be a roughly 45 percent increase in rendering performance. That’s a decent amount even for a 4 year timeframe. Obviously would be nice for it to be more.
I guess my standard would be can it play GTA VI in 4k at 60fps. As long as it can do that I’m good, I don’t think the current PS5 could do that (got about 14 months before we know for fact that is the case, but pretty easy to assume it’d be 30fps).

Yeah, again, getting a C level LG OLED for the full VRR and all that... it's not "tempting" per se because it costs so much but I'd like to give it a real go and see how its like.Damn, even the cheap BF specials have <15ms input lag in game mode these days. You need to upgrade...
Any cheap projectors you see on BF specials are going to be trash most likely.Damn, even the cheap BF specials have <15ms input lag in game mode these days. You need to upgrade...
The Jim Ryan era brought us to this and it's why I likely will not touch PS5 Pro unless it comes more powerful than expected, cheaper than expected, and Gamestop has some monster trade-in deal, eg like PS5 Pro is $550 and Gamestop offers $450 in credit towards a PS5 Pro for a PS5 trade-in. Otherwise what's the point when Sony has nothing interesting in the pipeline? Who knows how long it'll be before The Last of Us Part III? Otherwise it's just a Wolverine game that is also a long ways away considering all we have seen of it is a cutscene. Can these Sony guys walk & chew gum at the same time? They initially had 12 live service games (I know what the genre is now, but of course have zero interest in them) pared down to 6. There isn't room a good single player game, such as Blooborne remastered or even 2? It'd be like an atm machine for them, but yet they just refuse to make it. Fromsoft has proven you can indeed make single player games for people like me, not just the Candy Crush crowd.
Even if it's only $100 upgrade I probably still wouldn't be too enthusiastic lol. Vs when PS4 Pro came out there was a monster exclusive lineup coming within a few months of release with Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Persona 5, NieR Automata, and Uncharted Lost Legacy. The remaining games I'm interested in that are coming out this year are the MGS3 remake, Metaphor Refantasio, and Persona 3 Reload Episode Aigis, all of which are multiplats I'll likely play on PC instead, and there is nothing for next year.Yeah that is how I got a PS4 Pro - trading in my PS4 to Gamestop and paying like $50 or something on top of that to "upgrade". And this was at the time I was interested in PSVR as well so it was kind of a no brainer.
I would only get PS5 Pro if I can get one for a net cost of $100 or less after trading in my launch PS5.
Although crap, I painted my shell black shortly after I bought it, so I wonder how that will play into it lol.
I've paused my FF7 playthrough in anticipation that they'll do some magic to it. I know, that's really not that exciting. I think I am about half way through.Even if it's only $100 upgrade I probably still wouldn't be too enthusiastic lol. Meh if it could give me a constant 60fps in performance mode on Elden Ring, I would be happy to have that jump, even though it only slightly dipped in certain spots. I think my projector actually helps with framerate drops too with some kind of frame smoothing it does so I don't think I noticed the framerate dips as much as others did.Even if it's only $100 upgrade I probably still wouldn't be too enthusiastic lol. So the 60 fps mode is still terrible? Great.I've paused my FF7 playthrough in anticipation that they'll do some magic to it. I know, that's really not that exciting. I think I am about half way through.
